Before surgery (hospital visit) After reading several online reviews saying this place is one of the best for rhinoplasty these days, I went for a consultation. Of the three places I visited, this was the one that strongly felt right to me, so I chose it.
First of all, the clinic is run by the director alone, so it isn’t as large as places with multiple doctors, but because of that it actually felt even more specialized. And of course, it was clean.
I went into rhinoplasty after making a really big decision, so I was very scared, but the consultant manager and the other staff were kind, and strangely, my fear gradually disappeared.. They kept reassuring me even until the day of surgery.
Still, the decisive reason I thought, this is the place!! and chose it was the director. First, at other places, when I said I didn’t want to use silicone and wanted a closed approach, they just said things like, “Then shall we proceed that way?” and didn’t really provide a solution tailored to me.
But the director realistically told me that if we did it that way, it ultimately wouldn’t last long and the shape I wanted wouldn’t come out. He said that the nose shape I wanted required an open approach, and that if only the nasal tip was tied, the nose would look upturned, only the nose would become longer, and from the side it would look funny because only the nose looked long.. ^.
Not only did he provide a nose solution suited to my face shape like this, but he also clearly explained the pros and cons of rhinoplasty. And he had tremendous certainty and confidence in his own skills. He even honestly told me to go to several other places besides this one and compare.
Lastly, since I kept debating until the end about using silicone, the director told me to let him know on the day of surgery. But since I’m indecisive, I was still debating even on the operating table that day, so he asked if I agreed to him checking both with and without silicone, and if there wasn’t much difference he wouldn’t use it, but if it clearly made a difference and looked pretty, he would use it. I agreed.
2. After surgery When the director said it would be over once I fell asleep and woke up, I was still wide awake, but at some point when I came to, the surgery was really over.. And in the end, he told me that after surgery it definitely looked prettier, so he inserted silicone thinly into the nasal bridge, just a little? short? But honestly, it really needed to be done haha.. Even now, people compliment my nasal tip, of course, but I get a lot of compliments on my nasal bridge too.
I had surgery on Saturday, so I couldn’t have the cotton inside my nose removed the next day, and Sunday was hard Since I slept breathing through my mouth, I kept waking up, my mouth got extremely dry, and I had to keep drinking water. If I did it even one day later, it would overlap with Lunar New Year, so I had no choice but to schedule it for Saturday, but everyone else should check your schedule carefully before doing it!
Also, my skin is weak and thin, but I didn’t even do cold compresses on the day of surgery, so the next day my swelling and bruising were a mess haha. So I got scared and kept doing compresses, went outside and walked diligently, and after a week the swelling had gone down a lot and the bruising had faded a lot.
And even then, the director told me that the surgery had gone well and looked natural, and that after one month and after three months, the swelling would go down more and it would look slimmer.
3. Now Just as confident as the director was, acquaintances with a good eye now say things like, “Your nose changed?” but overall, far more people say, “Oh, you somehow got a lot prettier?” “You look prettier overall, but what is it?”.. This is exactly the nose shape and reactions from people around me that I wanted. And since I’ve been applying the ointment consistently, the incision scar isn’t noticeable either.
