I’ve been getting fillers and Botox for 13 years, but I was always too lazy, so I’d just get them casually at factory-style clinics or at the same clinic whenever I got lasers (Ultherapy/Thermage/InMode, etc.).
This time, the clinic where I got Ultherapy botched my lip filler, so the filler bulged all the way up to the philtrum and made me look like a proboscis monkey with a long philtrum;
I absolutely had to dissolve the upper lip, so I did, (the lower lip was just, well, tolerable by my standards) but even the areas I had previously filled all dissolved completely, so I thought, since it turned out this way, I should get it done beautifully again.
Recently I became interested in Russian lip filler, so I looked around a lot, but the conclusion is that it’s all just advertising and sales tactics. There was nowhere that used the kind of technique we see in foreign lip filler procedure videos on Instagram.
To be exact, even the shape of the needles they use is completely different, and the technique is completely different too.. It seems that’s because Asian and Western facial features are completely different, so when Koreans get Russian lip filler, it’s highly likely to look unnatural and turn into duck lips..
After searching and looking around to some extent, I reached the conclusion that going to clinics claiming to do Russian lip filler would be completely meaningless. (I actually booked a place because they said it was Russian lip filler, but after seeing a review saying it was no different from anywhere else, I canceled. It may also be because it’s easy to attach the procedure name Russian lip filler and sell it at a high price...)
So I just started looking for a doctor whose filler technique itself was exceptional...
I booked two clinics, canceled, booked, canceled, and eventually booked a third clinic and got the procedure today. In 13 years of getting fillers, I’ve truly never seen anyone inject filler this meticulously.
For reference, I’m someone who has even gotten 4 million won worth of filler at an outrageously expensive dermatology clinic in Cheongdam-dong known for having “godlike hands” (that’s the hint).
I can say with certainty that the director at the clinic I went to today had much, much better technique and aesthetic sense than that “godlike hands” doctor.
So was the price expensive? Nope, not at all. It was average;
To some doctors it may be “just filler” that doesn’t even bring in much money, but this director was genuinely serious about filler.
They injected little by little and molded it while finding the lip feel I wanted as much as possible. (They told me in advance that because of the limits of my lip shape, changing my lips into the exact shape I wanted was impossible - that can’t be done with a procedure; it’s in the realm of surgery.)
They had me look in the mirror and explained the lip feel that suited my face, which even I hadn’t known, and it really made sense.
The result is the best lip filler I’ve ever had ^^
I searched hard through this community for about 3 days, but getting information was harder than I expected. (I was sad because even when I left comments requesting information, people didn’t really reply.)
So I just skipped getting information from reviews here.
I didn’t give up and searched here and there, spending days organizing information in my notes until my eyes hurt, and it was so worth it.
Now, at this point, tips for finding a clinic⭐️
I’ve spent well over 100 million won on plastic surgery and procedures so far, and surgeries and procedures I did after roughly looking into them and going by instinct were usually just so-so or failures.
Clinics I found after spending a really long time, weeks or months, visiting and researching, organizing a ton and putting in the time, brought me light.
It seems the saying that effort doesn’t betray you applies to plastic surgery too. (Once you’ve had a lot of procedures and surgeries, you start seeing what’s real and what’s fake. You have to filter that well. Sometimes I deliberately pretend to be clueless and ask people who look like fake clinic-related accounts for information. Why? To rule out that clinic ^^)
Never rush. Even if it’s just filler or Botox, even if it seems minor, it’s being done to my face, so be really careful. Take notes diligently and search again and again with the mindset of digging through the entire internet,
Make a list of at least 10 clinic options for each procedure/surgery, then narrow it down one by one from there. I think that leads to success at least 80% of the time.
I often think that if I had known this when I was 20 and hadn’t gotten facial liposuction and eye surgery just anywhere, I’d be much prettier by now.
So among everyone looking into surgeries and procedures now, I really hope the younger ones are careful with surgeries and procedures.
I’m not saying don’t do it, but please, it’s your face, so I hope you don’t just immediately go and get things done because it’s cheap, because it’s close, or because someone said it was good.
Anyway, I was excited today and wrote this with the hope that everyone gets prettier! Bye
