Day 50
*Eating I can eat most soft foods. I can gently chew and swallow noodles and rice. But side dishes are still hard to chew, so I kind of move them around in my mouth and just gulp them downㅠㅠ
*Swelling The major swelling started going down quickly after the stitches inside my mouth were removed in week 2, and it seemed to be mostly gone before even a month had passed. Now only minor swelling remains next to the nostrils (there’s swelling only between the Indian lines and nasolabial folds..ㅠㅠ)
*Pain If I talk a lot, chew a lot, or move the cheekbone area a lot, it still feels stiff and sore.. I don’t know why, but since a few days ago only my right cheekbone has been hurting, so I’m planning to go to the clinic.
*Other My smile is still unnatural, I have a tooth-tightening sensation, only about 50% of sensation has returned, and I can only open my mouth about two fingers wide. There is scar tissue from the intraoral incision and it’s uncomfortable, and the sideburn incision scar is still quite noticeableㅠㅠ
*What I want to say If anyone here is considering cheekbone surgery and has a habit of grinding their teeth or clenching hard while sleeping, I recommend getting jaw Botox before cheekbone surgery to weaken the masseter muscle to some extent first..ㅠㅠ I clench my teeth while sleeping, and because of that I’m anxious every day that the cheekbone pins might break or come loose... I’m satisfied with the surgery hehe. But in my case, I saw a lot more effect on the 45-degree cheekbones than from the front, so maybe because the front view didn’t change dramatically, none of my family, friends, acquaintances, or coworkers know I had surgery...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Some might say that means there’s no effect, but when I look at the before-and-after photos, I can see the cheekbones got smaller and the 45-degree cheekbones are gone, so I’m satisfied, satisfied, extremely satisfied because I feel like I became prettier in a subtle and natural way.
