First, to talk about my first surgery, I had monolids, long outer eye corners, and my eyes were not small, but I just wanted double eyelids after finishing college entrance exams and before high school graduation, so I did it. At that time, it was before the makeup style of drawing thick eyeliner on monolids became popular...(sob) I went in the same day and had a consultation right away, and the look I wanted was an outer line, but the doctor did not understand me. (Back then, there were no terms like in-out or outer lineㅠ) He said he would do a full incision, but kept pushing partial incision, saying that partial incision is the trend these days and that the scar would not be as big if I did that. (With partial incision, the outer corner line really depends on luck.) After saying I would need fat removed, when it came time for the surgery, he muttered to himself, “There isn’t any??”ㅠㅠ Then my eyes ended up uneven, and I went back to the hospital crying my eyes out. During consultation, the doctor had acted like he would do a revision if needed, but once I actually went back, he said to come back after 6 monthsㅠ Even after 6 months, they were still uneven, so I went again and he did one stitch. He said it was dissolvable thread, so I did not need to come back. But the black thread mark is still left even now. After that, I refuse anything involving dissolvable thread. Afterward, the cute look was gone and I personally felt it made me look older, but what could I do since it was already done. The scar was fairly noticeable, my eyes looked uneven to me, and so 10 years passed like that...
Every time I took a photo, my eyes looked unevenㅠ I was stressed, and then everyone around me started getting plastic surgery during the COVID period. A few people close to me had double-eyelid incisional surgery at Changwon Red Plastic Surgery Clinic, and although they themselves were not that satisfied with it, I thought they looked pretty, so I went there for a consultation. I had also gotten consultations at other hospitals before, and they said they would do a full incision as a revision double-eyelid surgery. But here they said they could fix my uneven eyes with buried sutures, so I decided on it.
Consultation, surgery, and disinfection 3 days later, a total of 3 visits and that was it. There was no special aftercare here, and nothing else. (I already knew this from hearing about it, but) before surgery and after surgery the attitude was different, and after surgery if the doctor himself was satisfied, that was the endㅎㅎ He said himself that he did a good jobㅎㅎ I asked for an outer line only. I said I absolutely wanted a big outer line, and he said okay, but as soon as the surgery was over and I looked in the mirror, he had again made it ambiguously outer. Still, I trusted the doctor, but I was wrong. I regret not speaking up immediately after surgery.
Still, for a revision surgery, it was cheap, and because it was buried sutures, I recovered quickly, and above all, I am satisfied because my uneven eyes were corrected to some extentㅠㅠ Now, when I take ID photos, my uneven eyes do not show. If I had received consultation for a full incision, I would probably still be wondering whether to do it or not, so in my own way, it was my saviorㅎㅎㅎ During consultation, after the manager, I could consult immediately with the doctor in charge of the surgery, and they were the type to clearly say whether something was possible or not, so things moved quickly, but on the day of surgery there was a feeling that some things were listened to with one ear and out the other, and during the follow-up consultation after surgery, it felt like, “I did well, so this is the end.”ㅎㅎㅎ From the people I saw who had surgery on their eyes and noses, the results seemed somewhere between medium-good and good. Maybe one step below “the surgery went amazingly well~~~~~,” more like “it went well~”?
