Before <my natural nose before hump shaving> After <7 days after surgery> Hi, I brought a 7-day review of hump nose surgery.
I thought there might be people with the same concerns as me..
First of all, I had a high, large hump that was a subtle complex for me,
but since my front view had not been bad since I was young, I just lived with it. Then I decided to hurry up and do it before I got older and recovery became slower!!
I’m also scared easily.. and I absolutely pursue a natural and safe result, so I’m extremely, extremely conservative and didn’t want to put anything new in my nose, including my own cartilage or septal cartilage (and of course implants too..). So I looked for hospitals that could leave the nasal tip as it was and only remove the hump... Also, to avoid worrying about scars, I only considered places where a closed approach was required.. (Writing it out like this, I guess I really wanted a lot..)
I did a lot of online research.. and actually went to only two consultations in person, and I had surgery at the first place I consulted.
It’s a hospital famous for specializing in revision surgery, and the review photos were exactly what I wanted in terms of naturalness.. The director also specializes in functional surgery, so I chose it thinking I should just finish my first surgery properly in one go. In conclusion, I think I made a really good choice..
For my surgery method, because I was worried about a hump growing back, they shaved the hump down quite a lot, and also did an osteotomy to prevent open roof deformity + improve my wide nasal bridge!
I liked my round nasal tip, so I left it as it was. Since I didn’t raise the nasal tip or anything, it may not be great for everyone who dislikes a natural-looking nose..!! Still, I’m very satisfied.
The director has fast hands and seems to know the nasal structure completely, so the surgery was finished precisely and quickly.. Maybe because of that, there wasn’t much bleeding, and I was really worried about swelling because I had an osteotomy, but whether it’s because I don’t swell easily or not, I didn’t have much bruising or swelling.. (I removed the cotton the next day and took the 3 swelling medications to prevent any possible swelling..!!)
There is still some minor swelling and slight bruising left, but I think it will look slimmer and prettier once it goes down..!!! I didn’t disclose the hospital name because it might look like I’m a broker, but if anyone is curious, leave a comment. I’ll try to answer as much as I can when I have time!
++Addition++ (The reason I ruled out the second hospital was.. it was a place specializing in closed rhinoplasty, but they only said osteotomy was dangerous and suggested shaving the hump only shallowly.. Then I felt like my large hump would grow back.. Seeing that they didn’t seem confident about osteotomy made me give up on it..)
