As I got older, my dry eyes became severe, and they seemed to get worse year after year. I thought it was because I wore contact lenses for a long time and looked at my phone all day, and foolishly I only found out now, but I had been living all this time without knowing that symptoms of dryness such as foreign-body sensation, stinging eyes, tearing, eyelid crusting, and pain from gritty, stiff-feeling eyes can also come as aftereffects of double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty ㅠㅠ Fortunately I did not have ptosis correction, and even though my double eyelid surgery was non-incisional burial rather than incisional, maybe the epicanthoplasty was excessive, because I ended up with these side effects ㅠㅠ But they said the causes of dry eye syndrome are so varied that it seems to be multifactorial. It can also happen from fatigue ㅠㅠ So those with dryness will know, but you live with artificial tears and go to the ophthalmology clinic often. For me too, whenever it got severe, I even developed conjunctivitis, so I was often prescribed steroid medication, and when it got better it would get severe again, over and over. Meanwhile, when I went around for consultations at clinics for my son’s double eyelid surgery, all of them recommended ptosis correction, and my own revision consultation also said ptosis correction was necessary. While I was thinking about it, I knew the side effects of ptosis correction could be enormous and suddenly got scared, so first I went to a large ophthalmology clinic to get an accurate ptosis diagnosis. There was no large ophthalmology clinic in my neighborhood, and Gangnam ID Ophthalmology was nearby, so I went for a consultation. They said ptosis is only seen on Wednesdays, so I made a Wednesday appointment, and since I was already at the clinic, I received care for dry eyes. After the exam and diagnosis, they said my meibomian gland blockage was severe and my dryness was also severe, so they recommended dry eye treatment. I found this out for the first time in my life lol Since I had always only gone to local ophthalmology clinics, I had only received prescriptions, and it was my first time learning there was treatment. Of course I said I would do it, and after being informed about the cost, treatment period, and treatment methods, I started treatment. The treatment period takes about two months, and the method was an ocular eye peel, 2 Aqua Peel sessions and LipiFlow twice for each eye, treated one eye at a time. When I asked why LipiFlow was done one eye at a time, they said if both eyes are done together, the actual-cost insurance coverage comes out to about 400,000 won, so you have to do one eye at a time to receive actual-cost insurance coverage. I think AquaCell came out to a little under 120,000 won per session. I was able to receive actual-cost insurance benefits for all laser treatment costs. Honestly, even while getting the treatment, I thought, how much better could it really get? But the result was, insane!!! Why did I only do this treatment now???? What do I do about my eyes having suffered all these years because they met a foolish owner ㅠㅠ It really had an effect~~ After treatment, my eyes got so much better~ They said they have improved now, but over the next two months they will improve even more~~ Also, you have to consistently use the prescribed artificial tears for dry eye treatment. They said if it worsens again after 6 months, we can do one more treatment~~ For those with severe dryness, do not suffer, and especially if you have actual-cost insurance, I think it would be good to try treatment, so I strongly recommend it!!! Even if I had not had actual-cost insurance, I would have received the treatment because it was so painful. Oh right, the laser treatment does not hurt. After receiving it, the eyeballs feel so refreshed. And before the laser treatment, they provide device cleansing and moisturizing massage service on the face. They also do machine massage for the eyes. This was surprisingly nice too. So when I went for treatment, I went bare-faced without even applying sunscreen. I had to remove everything anyway. I’m writing this for reference haha On the first day of treatment, not knowing anything, I went with sunscreen and primer on, and since they are not a dermatology clinic, it felt like the staff member did not cleanse very thoroughly before doing it, so I felt uneasy. After that, it was comfortable going bare-faced.
Those with severe dryness, since local ophthalmology clinics do not have this, go to a nearby large ophthalmology clinic and get a treatment consultation~~
