My first surgery was non-incisional with an in-line crease, but it loosened, so this time I had revision surgery with an incision. My eyelid skin is naturally quite thick, and my eyes swell up a lot even when I cry, so I was fully prepared for severe swelling after an incision. The first few days were indeed extremely swollen, to the point that I could barely open my eyes. But even taking the swelling into account, the crease itself seems far too high right now, so I’m worried whether it will descend as much as I want with time. The photo of my desired look that I attached is the one I brought on the day of surgery. I explained that I wanted an in-out crease, with the line visible all the way from the front to the back without disappearing at the inner corner, like in that photo. I did want a slightly more glamorous crease than my first surgery’s in-line crease, but I never wanted one this thick. Right now the sausage-like appearance is so strong. Even though I’m opening my eyes as wide as I possibly can, I still can’t open them properly. Sigh… did the surgery really go wrong? Since this is my first time having incisional surgery, I can’t tell whether this is normal swelling or whether the crease itself is too high, and if it is swelling, I have no idea how long it will last. I have been managing it diligently, so compared with the beginning, I do think the major swelling has gone down a lot. But it still looks sausage-like and not at all like the look I wanted. Considering the rate at which it is decreasing, is there still hope that it will continue to go down over the next few months? The clinic said it would descend with time. Is there hope if I trust them and wait? Please leave comments if you’ve had incisional surgery…
