The building is small but felt clean. It’s not extremely famous, but it has a word-of-mouth reputation in cafes for being natural-looking and kind.
Just as I’d heard, the director was kind and explained things well. As soon as he looked at me, he noticed that my eyes were asymmetrical, and honestly said that even with double eyelid surgery, it would be hard to make them symmetrical
I didn’t say what line I wanted, but he placed the line well as the in-out line I wanted. He said my eyes don’t need an incision and that buried sutures would be enough.
When I asked whether buried sutures would come undone, he said that if my eyes came undone with buried sutures, they would come undone even with an incision.. He said there’s about a 90% chance they won’t come undone.
He said he tells people with eyes that loosen easily that it’s around 60%, but he told me he thinks mine will turn out well..! And whether it’s buried sutures or incision, adhesion has to form well for it not to come undone. He said cases where adhesion doesn’t form well are rare, but they do occasionally happen. Because he spoke so honestly, I trusted him a bit
He said if I do buried sutures and they come undone more than 2-3 times, it would be okay to do an incision then, and since it’s my first time, he seemed to recommend a non-incisional method if possible.
He said epicanthoplasty would actually look strange, so no no.
I usually have weak eye-opening strength, so I asked if I needed ptosis correction. He said it’s not done just because the opening strength is weak, but decided based on how much the black part of the eye is covered when the line is pinched. He said I don’t really need ptosis correction.
And because I usually thought I had narrow eyes, I asked what he thought about lateral canthoplasty. He said my eyes are actually on the long side horizontally, which shocked me.. I always thought I had narrow eyes, but they’re on the long side If mine are long, how long must people like V or Jennie’s eyes be… I felt a little disappointed but also good.
My right eye doesn’t really need lateral canthoplasty, but he said doing only the left eye would make the balance look strange.
If I were to do something, lower canthoplasty could technically be done on just one eye, but he said even doing lower canthoplasty only on the left eye would look strange, so I don’t need it.
Actually, even before going, I had seen a lot of reviews, so I already had this place in mind, and after the consultation I liked it even more. What really decided it was that when the director had me close my eyes to mark the line, he asked whether I sleep with my eyes open.
Ever since LASIK, my eyes have been so dry every morning when I open them. It could be because of LASIK, but even over time they stayed dry, and I personally felt like I might be sleeping with my eyes slightly open.
But the director said that even when I was closing my eyes, there was a bit of my eyes remaining open, so I was a little surprised. He said it’s called lagophthalmos, and after double eyelid surgery, the eye-opening strength can become weaker, causing you to sleep with your eyes open and develop dry eye. He told me that if I get surgery, this could get worse and may last until about 3 months. When I looked it up, it usually happens after surgery, but I already have it It’s sad, but he said if I do the surgery, I should go to an ophthalmologist often for treatment.
2. Cheongdam Style (single director / consultation fee 5,000 KRW) - Recommended: buried-suture double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction: 1,000,000 KRW - Incisional or non-incisional, either is fine - They place the line according to what you want
The building here was also on the smaller side. The director was very gentle and explained things well while smiling. At first he asked if I had a preferred line or method, and when I said I wanted an in-out line, he smiled and said he figured..(embarrassing) He said an in-out line suits me well and that a very large out-fold would not be that good.
He said I have little fat and thin skin, so either non-incisional or incisional would be okay.
When I asked whether buried sutures come undone easily, he said he would do double buried-suture adhesion and explained the surgical method with a drawing, so I trusted him a bit. He said these days they don’t come undone as easily compared with the past.
And because my iris is slightly covered, he recommended doing just a little ptosis correction. The previous clinic said I didn’t need ptosis correction, but here they recommended it, so I got a bit confused.
Here too, they said I don’t really need epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty, and that lower canthoplasty could be done, but it would probably look strange.
When I consulted with the manager, I asked whether I really needed ptosis correction. She said my eyes would be okay without it, but if I did it, they would look clearer and prettier, so I’m torn…
But was the total consultation time 10 minutes? It ended really quickly. Maybe because the director has done a lot of these, he had a vibe like he’d handle it well on his own, and if I didn’t have anything to ask, he didn’t really say much, so I wasn’t that drawn to it..
