First of all, I had a severe hump on my nose, so it had been a complex since I was youngㅜ People around me were gradually getting nose surgery too, so I wanted to get it done quickly and went around for consultations. I went to 5 places in total, but for now I’ll talk about just 2 around Apgujeong. I only wanted to shave down the dorsal hump, but when I went for consultations, what I commonly heard was that the nasal tip also needed to be raised a little. (Only one place said it would be okay to shave down a lot of the hump.) Since the hump is bone too, it would probably be dangerous to shave off too much.. I didn’t want to raise the nasal bridge, so I chose no implant. Dorsal hump reduction, nasal tip, no implant is the method I want.
1. ㅅㅍㅅ Nose Surgery Clinic (Director ㅂㅊㅇ) First, the consultant and director were very proactive and kind. The director kept taking photos himself with a camera, so it felt a bit burdensome and funny, and I had to hold back my laughter.. Here, you have to do functional nose surgery together no matter what, so they also diagnose rhinitis. They put some kind of medicated cotton? inside the nose and did the consultation. It was super uncomfortable. When I looked inside my nose, the swelling that had been really puffed up disappeared after they put the cotton in, but I didn’t feel that big of a difference when breathing. By my standards, I felt the consultant was overly kind, and it was nice that she showed me the marks from her own nose surgery while explaining. She told me things like the scar would form this way.. stuff like that. Here, because functional nose surgery is mandatory, it gets a bit cheaper because of indemnity insurance. They said they would use the septal cartilage for the nasal tip, not ear cartilage.
2. 4ㅇ31ㅇ (Director ㅂㅅㅇ) Here, the waiting time got really long, so I didn’t like that much. But it was the place I had wanted to go to the most from the beginning, so I just endured it. The consultation was basically the same. I didn’t feel like the doctor was extremely kind, but it seemed like he was trying to listen to the patient more than insist on his own view. He also explained my facial asymmetry in detail and wrote down a lot of things.. The no-implant dorsal hump reduction was the same, but he said he would use ear cartilage for the nasal tip, and the surgery time was longer than at other hospitals.
Both consultations were okay, and I felt like the doctors would listen to what I said. (At the hospital I went to before these, the doctor seemed to have very firm aesthetic standards of his own.. I don’t like flashy looksㅜ) Because they said they would use ear cartilage and because the surgery time was long, I put down a deposit at the second place, but after reading this community, I’m a bit worried..
