I’m in my late 30s, and since I was 20 I lived with Otrivin 365 days a year People with rhinitis and sinusitis like me know, right? They say Otrivin has serious side effects and all that, so you’re only supposed to use it one day out of three Pharmacists always emphasize that when you buy it. But who cares, if I don’t spray it I feel like I’ll die because I can’t breathe..
I tried to endure it, wondering what would happen if I held out, but if I didn’t spray it, I lived with headaches so bad that I took up to 10 Tylenol tablets a day I thought I couldn’t live like this. Then I found out about functional nose surgery
I also joined a community and searched to see if there were people like me, but there were fewer than I expected There weren’t really many reviews either
To say it plainly now, I’m on day 10, and during these 10 days I haven’t taken even one Tylenol tablet (From how things are going, I don’t think I’ll need to take it going forward either~ You know that feeling when things are bad from the beginning and the outlook isn’t good lol) - I haven’t used Otrivin at all for 10 days. Instead, I think a humidifier at home is essential. If I turn the humidifier on briefly, it opens right up
When I had surgery, both nostrils were blocked, and I kept thinking, what do I do, what do I do More than the pain from surgery, I was most scared of the headaches
Anyway, I’d never really been stressed about my nose shape or appearance in my life So I thought maybe I’d just touch it up a little while I was at it, and went around for consultations
I saw so many posts in a community saying large hospitals have many problems, so I was reluctant about big hospitals and thought about looking into private clinics I visited about 3 places, and I ended up choosing a large hospital where an ENT doctor is permanently on staff
So I got consultations, and some places recommended excessive things I didn’t want and didn’t need Most places are kind, of course, since it’s a consultation, but the atmosphere at each hospital was all different
Then I met one doctor, and he wasn’t especially super friendly, he really only said what needed to be said.. And he looked extremely tired (that was my first impression) - I wondered, what is this doctor, does he not want to operate on me? It was about that level, but somehow I trusted him He looked at my CT and told me exactly what the problems were: you just need this, this, and this. (I saw my skull, and if other people’s are shaped like I, my skull’s nose area was bent like < ..)
And since I was doing it anyway, I must have had a nose shape I wanted, right~? I showed him photos He clearly said, this can be done like this, or this cannot become like this
Anyway, after that I scheduled the surgery through the consultant and had it done, and I feel like my quality of life has improved I wonder why I didn’t do this earlier in my life.
My surgery was on the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday Something a bit absurd did happen before surgery: I was notified that the consultant who had consulted with me quit 1 hour before my surgery that day.. lol lololololololololololololololololololololololol instant brain freeze I had already paid/made the reservation deposit, changed clothes at the hospital, had the design marked, and surgery was in 1 hour, and you’re saying she quit? lololololol I did wonder whether this made sense, but the surgery ended well..
Day 1 (day of surgery) - No swelling, and except for the cotton packing, it was bearable Day 2 - A little swollen Day 3 - Why do I look like this..? (born with a bulldog face) Day 4 - Cotton packing removed, now I’ll be able to breathe through my nose, right? (Nope~ there are silicone splints, so I still can’t breathe~ lololol) I think the swelling started going down little by little from this point Day 5 - When will day 7 come Days 6~7 - I could only think about wanting to pull out the silicone splints (every time I breathed, the silicone fluttered like the Korean flag in the wind) - After they took them out, wow.............................................. I wondered how I endured it
The swelling has gone down a bit now, and when I look in the mirror I look human, so I’m posting a review~! For swelling care, I made sure to ask for a swelling injection on day 7 I didn’t really do cold or warm compresses, and I ordered the cheapest pumpkin juice on Coupang and drank 3 packs a day
Oh, and if anyone here is thinking about getting nasal bridge filler, put that idea away.. Please, seriously don’t get filler lolol In the previous photo, I marked the nasal bridge with an arrow to show where 1 cc of filler went in and spread. Filler, over time, spreads and makes the nasal bridge look fat like that,, when it first goes in, it looks pretty for about a month. That’s all. I’m a man so it’s okay, but if I were a woman, I think it would have been stressful
Right now I’m grateful that I can breathe without medication. I hope everyone succeeds!!
