I wanted to use ear cartilage, not septal cartilage, for the nasal tip, but the first consultation clinic said, "For primary surgery, I only use septal cartilage no matter what. I won’t do ear cartilage. In a primary surgery, septal cartilage can be used, but using ear cartilage is extremely troublesome. Some patients come in having decided on all the materials themselves, but that is all incorrect information from the internet," and they really scolded me(?)... So I was like, "Oh, I guess that’s how it is," and put it on hold. Then at the second consultation clinic, they said my nose was small and low, so there probably wouldn’t be anything usable to take from the septum, and that they would use ear cartilage for the nasal tip. The director’s surgical style also seemed similar to the shape I wanted, so I made a reservation right after the consultation and had surgery two weeks later. I said my nose seemed a bit upturned, so I wanted to lower it a little, but I didn’t want the columella to come down too unnaturally. When I said my nose looked bulbous, they said they would remove some fat. I didn’t want it to look too obvious, and I didn’t want it to be too natural either. I wanted it to suit my face, so I went in thinking 3.5-4 mm, but before surgery the director said it seemed like it should be raised more, so I just lay down leaving everything to the director. Since I came because I trusted them, I thought I should just trust them and go with it... Right after the surgery ended, I asked how many millimeters went in, and they said they carved a 7 mm silicone implant to fit my nose shape, so it seemed like about 5 mm went in. Actually, I went against the clinic’s instructions and did 40 minutes of bodyweight exercise starting from day 2 after surgery, and I also walked for two hours at a time. Maybe that was the cause, but when I went in on day 4 and they briefly removed the splint, they said a hematoma had formed, so they removed it with a syringe. It was really... pain I never want to experience again, so until my next visit I stayed only at home, and even when walking at home I moved one step at a time very carefully. I was so scared of bleeding that even when I woke up while sleeping, I did cold compresses and went back to sleep. There were also so many scary posts related to hematomas. Thankfully, when I went to the clinic on day 6, they said there was no bleeding, and I’m planning to take absolute rest until the second week... I’m only riding a cycle slowly while keeping my face fixed, for under one hour a day. A lot of people said removing the stitches inside the nose hurts, so I was worried, but maybe because the syringe used to remove the hematoma was so memorably painful... For me, aside from a slight sting each time, I didn’t really feel much.
