Hi! I think I got a lot of help from a community too, so after finishing double eyelid surgery, I’m writing a review
First, I got an in-out incisional double eyelid / incisional ptosis correction
I previously posted reviews after going to double eyelid surgery consultations
It feels like just yesterday that I wrote those reviews hehe, so it feels really nice to be writing this review now
It’s been one month, and there’s still a lot of swelling haha. But they say with incisional double eyelid surgery, it should still be a little plump at one month so that later, when more swelling goes down, the line won’t become excessively thin. Some people may prefer thin double eyelids, but I still like being able to see the line to some extent~
After a long, long time thinking about it, the reason I chose the hospital where I had surgery now was
Because I wanted to get it done somewhere good at ptosis correction Ptosis correction... honestly, I really didn’t want to get it either Of course looking pretty matters, but I’m a safety-first type, so I thought about not doing it But the director who performed my surgery emphasized, ‘For eyes like yours, you absolutely need ptosis correction. Your eye-opening strength is almost at a severe level.’ So after much thought, I did it. I wondered if it was really true, so I even went to an ophthalmology clinic and got told, ‘Your eye-opening strength is indeed weak...’
Maybe because I had both ptosis correction and double eyelid surgery, at first my eyes were really swollen like a monster... Compared with vlog videos from YouTubers who had buried suture or natural adhesion, it looked so strange that I wondered if the surgery had gone wrong But thinking about it now, I think it was a good choice I don’t have headaches? or anything people call side effects of ptosis correction Also, according to this doctor, incisional ptosis correction is much better than non-incisional ptosis correction, and I remember he showed strong confidence, saying that with the way he operates, if the ptosis correction goes wrong, it can be released even years later regardless of the time period So since he went that far...^^ I gave up my stubbornness.
2. Consultation manager with no pressure, clear aftercare for AS
First, I liked that the manager didn’t pressure me at all Instead of that strong personality typical of plastic surgery consultation managers, she felt just like an ordinary office worker, so I actually felt comfortable
And at first, after I had my stitches removed, I met the director The director was the first to say that one eye wasn’t opening enough, so we should do revision surgery again in a week
A week later, I prepared for surgery and went back... Hmm, it’s improved more than expected. Let’s just come back after one month and check again, and if it’s still persistently asymmetric then, we’ll do it then, he said Honestly, I only paid attention to my double eyelid line for a few days, and after that I haven’t cared much, but it feels like the hospital staff are paying more attention to my eyes than I am... Since they said to come again after one month ^^ I know the way to that hospital by heart now because I’ve gone so many times Good thing I’m not from out of town
Hmm... now there isn’t much more to write. During surgery, they repeated “open your eyes, close your eyes” about thirty times... The director muttered during surgery that my eyes were really difficult to operate on and that it was hard, but inside I was thinking, ‘This is the most expensive hospital among all the places I looked into for ptosis correction and double eyelid surgery, do you know how much money I spent!! Why are you grumbling so much, I’m in so much pain right now’ hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Other than that Anyway, the place I went to is really expensive... After double eyelid surgery, I was a bit tight on money for a while Still, I don’t regret it If you do a second or third revision, how much money would that be
To add a bit more about the hospitals I didn’t choose for surgery, they all had reasons
1) Hospital A Famous for eyes They say they do almost only eye surgery But this place was the strangest. The doctor here also said as soon as he saw me that I needed ptosis correction, upper epicanthoplasty, and incisional double eyelid surgery But he didn’t even tell me whether the ptosis correction would be non-incisional or incisional And upper epicanthoplasty, honestly... in my opinion, it’s wordplay. There is epicanthoplasty, but I think upper epicanthoplasty is similar to adding an item to charge more money (I could be wrong)
And what I disliked most was that they told me to choose between sleep anesthesia and local anesthesia for the anesthesia method Why use sleep anesthesia when doing ptosis correction...? This could also be wrong, of course. I’m not a doctor or a nurse, and medicine is really far from me and my family, including me But during surgery, they need to see me close and open my eyes for ptosis correction to be done properly, so why....??????? And when I said I’d do local anesthesia then, the manager suddenly made a bit of an ‘oh’ expression for a moment. I mean, it’s not like they were openly saying they’d do proxy surgery. I wondered what that expression was. Then they recommended sleep anesthesia to me. Why???? It’s still an unresolved mystery from my perspective. It was famous for eyes, and there were lots and lots of both Chinese and Korean patients
2) Hospital B This place is also famous for eyes, and they said they almost only do eyes I think I saw on an app or in this community that they had operated in one place for a long time, then briefly went under in the middle, and then reopened
Here, they recommended non-incisional ptosis correction + incisional double eyelid surgery From my point of view, non-incisional ptosis correction wasn’t great, so it was just... so-so I’d rather have incisional if anything... The consultation manager here had no manners at all. At first, she spoke softly, but when I worried a lot about ptosis correction, she treated me like a strange person, saying, “Lots of people do it, why are you being like that?” When I said I’d think about it more and come back, from then on her attitude got even ruder, and she practically kicked me out after taking a 10,000 won consultation fee hahahahahaha I was so dumbfounded that in front of the hospital building I cursed as I left, saying, ‘I waited over an hour, this is seriously way too much, and it’s even snowing today, just fall down hard while walking on the street’
But after double eyelid surgery, the change was so dramatic that I started looking into things like nose filler and nostril reduction and even got consultations Then I suddenly came to my senses, and now I’m going to stop having surgery The reason I’m writing this is also a promise to myself not to touch my face anymore
