Consultation reviews for ㅇㅈ and ㅁㅂ + the hospital I chose

I had double eyelid surgery in early February this year, so I’m going to share the places I went to for consultations and the hospital I chose! First, the places I visited were ㅇㅈ and ㅁㅂ in Gangnam! I originally planned to go to ㅇㅁㄹ too, but they said I’d have to wait two months just to get a consultation, so I only checked out those two places. Before surgery, my eyes were monolids without much fat, and although the length on both sides wasn’t short, they were slightly clam-like eyes. The surgical method I wanted was buried suture + lateral and lower canthoplasty, with a semi-out line!

-ㅇㅈ I went because it was where my friend had double eyelid surgery. When I met the doctor, I told them I wanted double eyelid surgery with the buried suture method, and since my eyes were slightly clam-like, I wanted lateral and lower canthoplasty together, and I wanted a semi-out line. They said my eyelids were thin, so buried suture was possible, but they recommended a partial incision to help prevent loosening. For the line, they said it would be made following my eye shape, but since my eyes naturally create an inline crease, they would have to place it high to make it an out line. Or they said another method would be to do epicanthoplasty and upper canthoplasty so the line would show, and if I wanted a semi-out line, they recommended that. They also said it might be good to do ptosis correction to make the pupils show better. For the lateral and lower canthoplasty, they said my eyeball and bone? were close, so even if they did it, there probably wouldn’t be a big change, but it was possible! Summary: partial incision + epicanthoplasty/upper canthoplasty + lateral and lower canthoplasty + ptosis correction

-ㅁㅂ I prefer natural-looking eyes over dramatic ones, and I heard ㅁㅂ is good at making them look natural, so I got a consultation there right away on the same day. First of all, the consultant in charge was so, so kind ㅜㅜ! She answered every little thing I asked, even shared her own experience, and kept taking care of me. A kindness I’ll never forget... The consultation with the doctor ended really quickly! At this hospital too, they said I didn’t have much fat in my eyes, so there was no need for an incision, and natural adhesion would be fine. They also said my eye length was long, so there was no need to do epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty. And since my eyes and bones were very close to begin with, they said lateral canthoplasty wouldn’t show at all even if I did it, so they told me not to do it. So I gave up on lateral canthoplastyㅠ For the line, just like at ㅇㅈ, they said my eyes naturally form an inline crease, and if I wanted an out line, they’d have to place it high, which could make sausage eyes. So I said that even if it wasn’t quite semi-out, I wanted the line to be visible from the beginning of the eye, and they said they would do upper canthoplasty to make the line show! Summary: natural adhesion + upper canthoplasty

I didn’t originally dislike my eyes, so I didn’t want that big of a change. I passed on ㅇㅈ and decided on ㅁㅂ because I felt they would match what I wanted best, and I had the surgery there!
