My current eye condition - First surgery: buried suture method - Revision surgery was also buried suture method - It has been 7 years since the revision surgery, and overall the double eyelids have come undone (the left eye is worse than the right) - I had even the revision done with the buried suture method because I wanted to avoid incisional surgery at all costs.. but I was told that once an eyelid line has come undone, there is no choice but to go with an incisional method for better fixation, so I mainly visited private clinics with many incisional double-eyelid reviews and good aftercare
Siㅅ (Gangnam) - Wait 30 minutes, consultation 20 minutes - Overall, the clinic atmosphere was chaotic and there were a lot of people, so the wait time was long too - Strangely, here the consultant first held up a mirror and marked the line for me. I had seen many places take photos, but it was my first time seeing a consultant personally mark the line, so it was interesting.. though I did wonder if it was really necessary - The director has strong convictions about his own surgeries. When giving the surgical diagnosis, he was the type to speak clearly rather than vaguely - He said the tertiary revision would be done by incision, and since my eyes are uneven, I would need eye shape correction as well, and the left eye should be opened more with an upper canthoplasty - When I asked if fat removal was necessary, he said no. Personally, it seemed like he does not prefer fat removal - CCTV available, 1-year AS, stitches removed on day 7
Olㄹ (Apgujeong) - Wait 5 minutes, consultation 30 minutes - This was a private clinic just like the previous one, but here it felt much more comfortable and well organized. There were quite a few people, but the wait time was short - Here, they took photos. Then the consultant asked me in detail about my previous surgeries - This was the first place that started the consultation by explaining my eye structure. The director told me to close and open my eyes, and explained professionally why my eyes were bound to become uneven and why the double eyelids had come undone - He said that even though I had surgery twice with the buried suture method, the reason it came undone is probably mostly because my current line is very low and I also have quite a lot of eyelid fat - He recommended a tertiary revision by incision, and here they suggested doing fat removal together. He said canthoplasty or eye shape correction was not necessary - CCTV available, 3-year AS, stitches removed on day 7
For reference, both had aftercare like swelling laser treatment, and they said I could see the director at all follow-up checks Since this is my tertiary revision surgery, the friendliness of the director or consultant was not that important to me, but even so, both places empathized with the difficulties I had been through and explained the surgical method in detail, which was a small comfort..
Since I did not decide after visiting only these two places anyway, I am posting this to share information! Both were okay, but the first clinic’s atmosphere was too chaotic, and the director’s convictions were so strong that I was a bit worried there might be a situation later where our opinions clash..
I still have ㅅㅋㄹ and ㄷㅇㅇ left, and since I already booked them, after I visit those, if I am still unsure, I plan to keep going to consultations at places like the second clinic that are less chaotic and have shorter wait times.. lol
