Liposuction Reviews

A muscular girl's in-person reviews of 3 famous lipo clinics (abdomen, pubic area, ... )

I’m going to post fresh reviews from visiting three clinics famous for liposuction. First, my specs are: Overweight, very muscular build, a 3-shaped abdomen, especially with a noticeably protruding lower belly. My pelvis is long and I like lower-body workouts, so I also have hip dips. The style I want is a delicate but curvy Western look, and I’m very sensitive about incisions!! I’ll write the reviews casually, in terse style~

1. Clinic A Director: Dr. G Consultation fee: Free Consultation time: 45 minutes...? (doctor consultation > coordinator consultation)

My appointment was at 10, and after a short wait I had the consultation. I didn’t choose a specific doctor, but maybe because this was a liposuction consultation, I was assigned to Dr. Kang! After the InBody measurement, I went straight into the doctor consultation. The doctor briefly explained the InBody results, then had me take off the gown and stand in front of the mirror while pressing on my fat to show how much could come out. He was very careful in how he touched me, so there was nothing uncomfortable about it, which I liked! He said that although I’m overweight and my upper arms are bulky, my fat mass isn’t that high, so I shouldn’t expect a big effect on my upper arms Instead, he said the abdomen would improve, but because my lower belly sticks out so much, some skin would still remain He also pushed the side waist fat around to see how much could be removed there, and said that although my body fat percentage and BMI are high, there actually isn’t that much fat to take out, so the amount would barely be enough to fill in the hip dips I liked that he was straightforward about what could be done and what couldn’t, and he seemed confident about fat grafting. I was worried about retention, and he honestly said that in the past he himself had also stumbled around a bit, but that things have improved a lot now. The coordinator was friendly and approachable, and recommended that instead of the upper arms, suctioning the whole back might make the body look more delicate (not forced). She also advised me not to do upper-arm workouts anymore because my arm muscles are too big The clinic facilities were good and the reception was kind, but there were huge diffusers everywhere in the coordinator’s room and throughout the clinic, and the scent was overpowering, so personally it was a bit hard for me I think they also blasted warm air strongly for the people having surgery, because it was very warm, which felt considerate! Afterward they sent me the consultation details and estimate by KakaoTalk. The coordinator also tried to fit my schedule, and since she was such a warm, approachable person, I liked that. The reason this review is unusually short compared with the others is not because of how it feels, but because it really was shorter ㅇㅇ relatively short ㅇㅇ Overall, it was a concise and simple consultation. They even did an ultrasound, and I was surprised the consultation was free.

Incisions: Abdomen - pubic area, two beside the pelvis, two at the back waist, navel Arms - front and back of the armpit area, elbow Pubic area - one pubic-area incision Consultation time: 1 hour (doctor consultation < coordinator consultation)

2. Clinic B Director: Solo doctor Consultation fee: 10,000 won

The consultation was delayed by an hour because of surgery, but they informed me in advance, which I appreciated. This was the only place that measured my height and took a huge number of photos. Since they kept displaying those photos during the consultation, you should wear non-embarrassing bra and panty. As I’d heard, the doctor spoke very beautifully, and because I’d seen his face on YouTube, it felt like seeing a celebrity. But maybe because he had just finished surgery, he also seemed a little tired. Still, when he thanked me for coming from so far away, I understood why people call him sweet ㅇㅇㅠ At the previous clinic they said my upper arms probably wouldn’t benefit much, but this doctor was very confident about my upper arms. He was sure there was a lot to remove, but when the conversation turned to the abdomen... he became very serious. I had prioritized Clinic B because I was worried about scars, but Clinic B gave me two options: effectiveness first / scars first. My abdomen is an unusual case, so if I want good results, a lot of incision would be needed. And he said the lower back area would also have to be done. To remove the side waist effectively, the lower back area has to be opened too, which would also create incision wounds under the back-waist bra line. I asked, do we really need to open under the chest too? and he said otherwise the upper abdomen can’t be reached. He said my abdomen has a very large thoracic cage and a side profile shaped like a 3, so even after liposuction it would be hard to make it into a flat, straight abdomen. ㅇㅇ I understood. I was also told that the folded pork-belly-like marks already there would not disappear. He said my belly has almost no elasticity, so both the upper abdomen and lower abdomen are already sagging. So when I asked about a lift, he was very confident, saying his suctioning skill is better than most lifts anyway. ㅇㅇ fair enough. Because I have hip dips, the plan was to suction the fat above the pelvis thoroughly to sculpt the shape and smooth that curve. For fat grafting, they would split it into first and second stages, and since I dislike lots of incisions, the plan was to do the abdomen and first-stage grafting first, then do the arms in the second stage, with or without the lower back, and decide after seeing the abdomen first. He said fat grafting should definitely be split into two stages, and that this gives better results. The coordinator consultation was very long and good, and she was kind. This was the only clinic that showed photos of other patients’ cases. It was also the only place that did an ultrasound of the pubic area. Because my body fat amount was low relative to my BMI, they lowered the extra-fee tier too. They did not send me the consultation details and estimate separately afterward.

Incisions Abdomen - both sides of the pelvis, navel, two at the back waist, two in the lower back area, two under the chest Arms - front and back of the armpit area Pubic area - one pubic-area incision Consultation time: 1 hour 30 minutes? (doctor consultation = coordinator consultation)

3. Clinic C Director: Solo doctor Consultation fee: 10,000 won

The reception staff and coordinator here were extremely kind. Other places were kind too, but the receptionist in particular was especially kind. People say the coordinator reviews aren’t good, but I thought she was really great! This was the only clinic where the coordinator separately messaged me on KakaoTalk when the consultation was booked. I went in the afternoon, and as soon as the doctor came in, he was full of energy and very lively(?) Among the consultations I went to, this doctor here was the most comfortable, bright, and proactive. He didn’t force me to completely take off the gown either, and when looking at my arms, I only took off the top gown, and when looking at my abdomen, the consultation proceeded with me still wearing a skirt, so I was never fully stripped down. Before going, there were so many posts saying he was meticulous and detailed that I thought it was just the image being pushed by brokers, but after the consultation, it really did feel meticulous! He reviewed every single InBody number and even pointed out evidence that my upper body was more developed despite my body being bulky on both the upper and lower sides(?). When he saw me, he honestly said my tissue quality was also fibrous and that I was not an easy case. When I said the previous clinic told me my upper arms probably wouldn’t improve much, he said he could see why, that it is difficult, but while carefully touching and checking the armpit accessory breast tissue, underarm area, under-arm fat, and other parts with my arms spread open (gently o), he explained the entire arm design, including how to handle the fat below the accessory breast tissue and below the collarbone. Since there isn’t much to remove from the arms at all (because most of it is muscle), his theory was that if he organizes the surrounding fat and minimizes the compression of the arms, they would look much thinner. It sounded convincing, and I almost went along with it. The other places hadn’t said much about the arms... That’s when I realized why this place is so famous for arms. He also said the abdomen was a difficult case, but although the pork-belly-like marks and leftover skin are anatomically true, he was confident he could still create a straight abdomen. He said my thoracic cage is large and my waist is short, making me a straight, boxy body, but it is a strange shape because the front abdomen is the main problem and there are no side waist or back-waist love handles. When I said another clinic told me I needed the lower back area done, he said the lower back area wasn’t necessary, and the whole back wasn’t necessary either. Instead, he said that while doing 360-degree abdomen liposuction, he would neatly handle the lower-back area and back-waist area. He also said there isn’t much to remove from the side waist, but he would sculpt the fat above the pelvis (the fat that Clinic B said they would remove) to create a side-waist line. So Clinic B’s design is to reduce the waist curve to reduce the hip-dip curve, while Clinic C’s is to preserve the waist curve more through angle and then fill the hip dips with fat grafting. In any case, he said my body can’t become a delicate straight-arm look, so we should go for curves. I nodded. But although they talked a lot about liposuction, I actually didn’t hear much about fat grafting... He said because I don’t have enough fat, we should do the arms first, freeze that fat, and combine it with the abdominal fat later. He also said there is absolutely no need for chest incisions, and that my abdominal elasticity is fine(?). The coordinator consultation was extremely long and good, and the coordinator was very comfortable to talk to. I ended up leaving after chatting a long time. They took a lot of into account about my situation and gave a fairly big discount on the estimate. They also sent the estimate by KakaoTalk afterward.

Incisions: Abdomen - both sides of the pelvis, navel, two at the back waist Pubic area - pubic area Upper arms - front and back of the armpit area, elbow

Writing it all out like this, it looks like I spent too much on one place, so it could seem biased, or even like I’m a broker, but I swear I’m not ㅇㅇ I went to three clinics, and it was fascinating how differently they all talked.

Clinic B kept saying my belly elasticity was really poor and that was the biggest problem, but Clinic C said it was fine. Clinic A said my arms would have only a small effect so the cost-effectiveness would be low, and Clinic C also said it was a difficult case and that even if the front view was small, they would find a way through the front and back, but Clinic B said there was a lot to take out from my arms. Clinic A recommended the whole back, and Clinic B said the lower back area was absolutely necessary, but Clinic C said the back wasn’t needed. Clinic A said some skin would remain on the abdomen, and Clinic B said a straight abdomen would be impossible and the pork-belly line would remain, but Clinic C said a straight abdomen would be possible.

Maybe because the doctors at Clinic C and Clinic A came from the same hospital, their design style felt somewhat similar, while Clinic B was very different, which surprised me!!!

If I break down the pros and cons: Clinic A Pros: The doctor was honest and knew what to keep and what to give up, and the expected amount of fat to be removed was the highest. Confident about fat grafting too. Cons: The consultation ended too simply. Since they’re famous for making people look beautiful anyway, they’ll probably do well on their own, but it felt like they didn’t consider body shape much?

Clinic B Pros: Because they took photos and looked at them, I could see it from an objective perspective(?) and the confidence was backed by reasoning. They care about fat-graft retention. Cons: The incisions are unusually many compared with other clinics (I had not even looked at the famous scar-focused clinic because of the incisions). The consultation strongly emphasized the downsides. There may be people who like that, but for someone going in with hope for liposuction consultation, it felt really discouraging, which was disappointing

Clinic C had the longest and most detailed doctor consultation. The body-shape design and analysis were also extremely fine-grained. It felt like they really knew customer needs. Cons: I didn’t hear much about fat grafting compared with liposuction. They say it’s a difficult case, but they seemed too optimistic, which made me uneasy(?)

If Clinic A felt like “take out all the fat that exists,” Clinic B felt like “eliminate the parts that are pointed out as weaknesses,” and Clinic C felt like “save the existing strengths however possible.”

Different note, but wherever you do liposuction, I really recommend going to Clinic C for a consultation at least once. Let me say again, I’m not a broker. It was the only place that really thought through and explained my body type like this. A body-shape consultation for 10,000 won is too cheap. You can’t cut muscle ^~^ To make a waist, you’d have to remove ribs ^~^ The usual range is this, but your measurements are way beyond it ^~^ They smile while throwing a dagger, but they also really bring out your strengths well. They complimented me a lot on which lines were pretty. The coordinator also complimented me so much that it was embarrassing, but I’m only human, so I couldn’t help feeling good,,, Since they explained a design plan that emphasized my strengths, it really felt like a custom design, and they were the only place that accurately pointed out that my skin is a hard, fibrous tissue, that the front abdomen is heavily concentrated, and that I have no accessory breast tissue, armpit fullness, back-waist fat, or love handles (which is something I always thought about) and that, given my goals and body type, I should focus on curves rather than delicacy! So I went ahead and booked surgery at Clinic C.

Everyone already had these places ranked as follows: Clinic B first, Clinic D (did not consult) second, Clinic A third, Clinic C fourth, but after the consultations, the feeling was completely different!!! This is exactly why people say you have to visit in person and consult in person. It was an experience that made me realize there are clinics that just fit me better.
