What Led Me to Get Rhinoplasty and the Procedures I Had

I’m a college student, and during exam period I was studying all night. I got stressed and watched YouTube for a bit, and a rhinoplasty Q&A popped up in my algorithm. It was a YouTuber I already knew, and when I saw the thumbnail, she looked freaking pretty, so I clicked in as if I were possessed and watched it. I had usually been stressed about my nose, and whenever I took photos I was always reducing my nostril wings and editing them, so I started seriously thinking about it. Still, since I was a student, I thought I should save up money and do it during summer break! So I started looking into it by watching all kinds of YouTube videos from plastic surgery directors about rhinoplasty, post-surgery vlogs and Q&As from YouTubers, and so on. I heard that rhinoplasty doesn’t end with just one surgery, and I didn’t want my nasal tip to droop. I also heard that they do overcorrection at first, but I really hate an upturned nose, and autologous costal cartilage seemed to have so many advantages. So I thought autologous costal cartilage would be okay as a material too. And if I was going to do it, winter seemed better, and I already had some money saved. Once this month’s paycheck came in, it would be about 4.5 million won, so I thought I’d just finish it within winter break. I did a ton of online research, narrowed it down to 5 clinics, and then went for in-person consultations. Originally, I was planning to go to all of them alone, but when I told an older coworker from my part-time job, “I’m going around for rhinoplasty consultations!!” she was like, “Huh?? I want to do it too, I’ll go with you,” so we decided to go together to just one place where our schedules matched. And when I told a friend I had heatedly discussed rhinoplasty with during exam period that I was going for consultations, she said she wanted to come too, so we planned to group four places in one day and go around together. The clinic I decided on was the 4th one I visited. The first one was a clinic that does customized implants, and they recommended a customized implant to me, even though I originally had no intention of using silicone. And since I had experience with filler, the director told me that what was left in my glabella was all filler, so I decided I would need to use silicone after all. So I, who had originally planned to do it without an implant, decided to use silicone too. The price was decent, it’s also a clinic known for autologous costal cartilage, it’s a one-doctor clinic, and the consultant gave a good consultation, so I decided to do it there! And now it’s day 4.
