Review of a Second Revision Surgery

I had my second eye revision surgery in May 2020. For my first surgery in 2008, I had epicanthoplasty and buried-suture double eyelid surgery, and because the buried sutures came undone, I had only the buried-suture method redone either the next year or the year after that, at the same hospital with the same director. Both times there were no scars, and the results were really very natural and good, but as each year passed, the double eyelids kept getting shorter and fainter. I wondered if I needed full incision, so in 2020 I went for consultations at ㄱㄹㄷ/ㄷㄹ/ㄷㅇㄷ/ and finally had it done at ㄷㅇㄷ. The consultation details at ㄱㄹㄷ and ㄷㄹ were the same: full incision, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty, and lateral canthoplasty. The director at ㄷㅇㄷ recommended upper epicanthoplasty, partial incision, ptosis correction, and a forehead lift. Since I had only planned to redo the double eyelids, I was a bit shocked by the unexpected forehead lift, and I hesitated because of the price barrier.. The consultant who was there at the time said that among people with eye cases like mine, there were many who were worried about the price, only did ptosis correction, double eyelid surgery, and upper epicanthoplasty without a forehead lift, and still came out well. So I booked it that way, but on the day of surgery... before the surgery, the doctor scolded me. He said he had clearly told me that I needed to do the forehead lift first, so why was I doing it in the opposite order. I got scolded a lot, and in the end I did have the surgery, but it came out well. Since it was a partial incision, I was worried it might come undone again, but so far it’s okay. At that time I had wedding photos scheduled 5 months later, so I was worried, but the swelling went down quickly too. (It took longer than after my first and second surgeries.) They said if I did upper epicanthoplasty, it would inevitably become an outline crease, but after surgery, for about 3 to 6 months it was an in-out line, and as time passed it came out as an inline crease. There is a little scarring from the upper epicanthoplasty, but it isn’t noticeably severe. If you look closely, you can see it... Anyway, even considering that, among my friends who had eye revision surgery, mine is the most natural and well done. But.. if I had had the money, I would have done the forehead lift as the doctor told me to haha
