Because of the doctor, I ended up with scarring and an oddly made line, so my double eyelid surgery was ruined. I’m leaving this post to share my experience and to urge people to be careful when choosing a clinic and doctor.
I had revision double eyelid surgery at the plastic surgery clinic mentioned above, and it caused side effects (scarring, an uneven/non-smooth line), so I’m writing this for the public interest. I hope it helps people make wise choices.
They left a raised scar on the skin above the double eyelid line and did not even apologize. (According to a dermatologist’s diagnosis, to improve the scar I would need at least 10 treatments at 300,000 won each = at least over 3 million won in treatment, and there is no guarantee that it will all improve even after that many sessions.)
The doctor also injected medication to improve the scar, and then gave the absurd answer that the scar was not within the range of scarring he could have predicted. Who is a patient supposed to trust when getting surgery? There was no sincere apology either. So when I asked the doctor what the clinic could do for me, he said only revision surgery to improve the line. And he said the scar that had already formed could not be removed. = The scar was not the patient’s fault, but was caused by the doctor’s lack of surgical skill, yet the patient has to bear it all.
Neither side of the line improved either (because the line was not smooth, the doctor said he would do revision surgery = proof that the doctor indirectly acknowledged that the surgery failed. However, he said that even if I underwent revision surgery, the existing failed incision line would not disappear. So instead of revision surgery, I requested a partial refund of the surgery fee, but the clinic refused.)
In summary, based on what I experienced at this clinic, if you get double eyelid surgery here, you may suddenly get a scar above your eye and the line may become strange. The clinic’s response to this is only revision surgery to create a new line without improving the already failed line, and even if additional scars or other surgical risks arise from the scar and the already failed line, the patient alone has to bear them (unexpected risks even the doctor does not know about).
I went because the reviews looked good, but at the time I had my consultation, this clinic was also running a discount in exchange for writing a review. The condition for writing a good review and receiving the discount was sending almost 90-100 “original” photos. And the discount was 300,000 won. Before surgery, I thought the review condition was excessive because I would have to give photos containing my personal information and write a good review, so I said I would not take the discount and paid the full 3 million won.
I believe honest reviews like mine need to be shared widely so consumers can make wise decisions when choosing a clinic. This post is shared in the public interest for consumer rights, so please do not delete it or take it down.
