Hehe <7 months after eye and nose surgery> Before <my bulbous-nose days before surgery> I don’t know how everyone else feels, but for me it was my first surgery and first cosmetic surgery in my life, so I didn’t know much, and I was a total cosmetic-surgery newbie who really agonized over whether to do eye surgery and nose surgery together. My concerns were inner double eyelids and a bulbous nose, and my face felt too small and cute in a childlike way. I also wanted to get rid of the look of seeming too young. While going around for consultations, I learned a lot, but I thought if I went to too many consultations I’d actually get confused and become unable to choose, so I went to exactly 3 places. Before surgery, my dilemma was whether to only get nose surgery or also get eye surgery and recover from both together. My final choice was to do them together, because if I was going to do it anyway, it seemed better to get it over with at once. I felt like if I didn’t do my eyes, I’d end up doing them later anyway.
For the surgery, at a plastic surgery clinic, for my eyes I had natural adhesion double eyelid surgery and lower canthoplasty. For my nose, I had 3 mm silicone with donated costal cartilage, and because my bulbous nose was severe, I also had alar cartilage tying surgery. I wanted alar base reduction and epicanthoplasty too, but the director advised against them, so I didn’t do them.
The first week after surgery was pretty hard for me, and it was even harder when I had cotton in my nose. I barely went out for the whole weekㅠ After the splint was removed, I started taking short walks and things, but even so I was so swollen that I really thought the surgery had failed ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I kept KakaoTalk messaging the manager asking if it was a side effect lol Looking back now, it’s seriously embarrassing. For reference, the nose swelling went down faster, and the eyes seemed to stay swollen a little longer than the nose. About a month after nose surgery, the swelling suddenly started going down a lot and the overall shape began to show. There was a slight Pinocchio-like feeling too, but that also went away over time.
After a month, I kept feeling like my face was dry and tight. Other than being careful when washing my face or putting on makeup, there wasn’t much I had to be especially careful about. At least the nose feels tight, but my eyes really feel like nothing happened, so in daily life I don’t even feel like I had surgery. From about one month onward, the results start showing and I still remember what I looked like before surgery, so I think that’s when satisfaction is at its highest lol After 2-3 months, you gradually forget what you looked like before surgery. The post-surgery face becomes natural, like it was your original face. Then at some point when you see a pre-surgery photo, it’s true shock and horror!!! I really look like a stranger lol Once some time has passed and there’s no pain or tightness, you keep wanting to get other cosmetic procedures. I’m still thinking about breast augmentation, but I’m honestly so scaredㅠ I keep wondering whether I should at least get forehead filler.
My satisfaction changed like this: until week 1, -100%, wondering why I did it; by one month, about 50-80%; after one month, when there was still minor swelling, I was so satisfied it went to 500%-1000%; then after returning to everyday life, when I barely thought about it except for moments like “Oh right, I had surgery,” it was 200-300%. I think that’s how it was for me.
