I received an estimate for removal of the septal extension and changing it to a support strut + medial and lateral osteotomies to properly realign the nasal bone + septal reconstruction using autologous costal cartilage or donated rib cartilage (to improve saddle nose).
They said the surgery would take 4 hours and would be under sedation anesthesia.
The consultation was really good, but there are three things that seriously bother me.
1. The cost is too expensive => If using donated rib cartilage, it’s 10.1 million won; if using autologous costal cartilage, it’s 10.6 million won.. Since there are so many procedures planned, is this unavoidable?? (price with photo provision)
2. 4 hours of sedation anesthesia => I heard sedation anesthesia can be dangerous when harvesting autologous costal cartilage, so the fact that it’s sedation anesthesia bothers me, and I’m worried about having to be under sedation for as long as 4 hoursㅜ
3. Osteotomy => I had an osteotomy during my first surgery, and is it right to re-osteotomize a nose that was broken again afterward?? I’m scared of that part ㅠㅠ When I previously went for a consultation at ㄷㅌㅈ, they said re-osteotomy could be dangerous,,,
