After completing 6 months, I finally had everything removed. I had the septal extension, ear cartilage, 3 mm silicone implant, and even the ear cartilage at the nasolabial angle removed. Right now my nose is swollen and I have a splint on, so I can’t see the shape, but just knowing that the implant and cartilage are out makes me so happy and relieved ㅠㅠ During the pre-op consultation, I said that if there was a situation where they might need to fill in a depressed area with the removed cartilage, I didn’t want to do that. I really didn’t want anything left behind ㅠ Still, I told them to let me know during surgery if it was severe, but thankfully they said the nasal bridge wasn’t uneven and there were no problematic areas, so they didn’t do anything else! They also said they barely used the septal cartilage. I saw the cartilage they showed me, and it was really small. They said they used a lot of ear cartilage instead of septal cartilage. I felt like it was better that they used more ear cartilage rather than septal cartilage.. Even on the train to Seoul for the surgery, I kept thinking, is it really okay to remove it, what if it gets even worse? But as soon as the surgery ended, the first thought I had was that I was really glad I removed it haha. They said the doctor who did my first surgery had put the silicone all the way to the nasal tip, so I wouldn’t have been able to keep it for long anyway.. They said 5 years if short, 10 years if long.. I’m only twenty now.. I’m really glad I removed it now. I was anxious because I only went to one hospital for consultation and had the surgery there, but I think I made a good hospital choice too. The consultation, surgery prep, responses during surgery, and post-op explanations were all so kind, and they answered every question I had, which was nice. I can’t believe the day has come when I’m writing a removal review like this.. I want to get the stitches removed quickly, let the swelling go down, and return to everyday life, really! Once I get the splint removed on Saturday, I’ll come back to write another review!
