I'm 45.. before I get any older, I decided to get double-eyelid surgery, and this is my review after consulting at three hospitals~ When I was younger, I had a hidden double eyelid, but by my mid-40s the crease disappeared under my eyelids, and the lower eye area started to protrudeㅠㅠ
1. Dr. Yu at ㅇㅇ hospital: A hospital I went to on a friend's recommendation. The director graduated from Seoul Science High School and Seoul National University College of Engineering, then changed course from the original path and graduated from Ajou University School of Medicine. He has both an excellent brain and outstanding looks. I’m jealousㅎㅎ Actually, I went in for consultation about my eyes and under-eye area, but he suddenly talked about a forehead lift. I felt a little resistant, wondering if it was a sales pitch, but after listening carefully to the explanation, I thought it was a reasonable opinion. He said that because the space between my eyebrows and eyes is narrow and there is a lot of fat in the upper eyelids, I would need a forehead lift and fat removal to get a clearer eye shape... But the cost ended up being twice what I expected, so I’m thinking it over.
2. Dr. Park at ㅇㅇ hospital: A kind doctor who also gave a very good consultation and had a sense of humor. He said to make the eyes an in-line double eyelid, and since my skin isn’t sagging much for my age, under-eye fat repositioning alone would be enough. As for the eyes becoming closer to the eyebrows after double-eyelid surgery, he suggested ptosis correction... For now, I liked that the cost was reasonable.
3. Dr. Choi at ㅇㅇ hospital: The opinions from the first two hospitals were so different that this was the last hospital I visited. During the consultation, he measured my eyes with a ruler and seemed very meticulous. There were many men there for nose surgery, and the consultation fee was 10,000 won. His opinion was that because this is midlife cosmetic surgery, even if I get double-eyelid surgery, my eyes will sag again soon, so why do it now? He said he would do it if I wanted, but the surgical effect would not be very noticeable. He also said under-eye fat repositioning would not solve it and that I should get lower blepharoplasty instead. The cost was similar to ㅇㅇ hospital.
The doctors all had different opinions about in-line double-eyelid surgery and under-eye fat repositioning. There really is a reason people say to visit many clinics for consultations. After much 고민, I decided on the first hospital^^
