This is my 1-month post-op review.
I had incisional ptosis correction and posterior lower canthoplasty.
My current satisfaction with the surgical result is 7 out of 10.
* Things I’m satisfied with First of all, I’m highly satisfied that my eyes became bigger. They are definitely bigger than before, and my eye-opening strength has improved. I’m also very satisfied with the eye shape. You can tell by comparing it with before surgery, but it became very pretty. I’m especially satisfied with the posterior lower canthoplasty line. I worried a lot about whether to do it because of the cost and possible side effects, but I think I made the right choice. Most of all, it seems like it will settle naturally, so I’m looking forward to after all the swelling goes down.
* Things I’m dissatisfied with My satisfaction dropped slightly because of unexpected wrinkles between my eyebrows after surgery and asymmetrical eyes. Also, the swelling has not fully gone down yet, so I don’t know what shape it will settle into, and after debating between 8 and 7 points, I rated it 7. I do have some anxiety: Will the swelling really go down? Will it be okay once the swelling goes down? Will the posterior lower canthoplasty line really be corrected?
* Detailed explanation to prevent misunderstandings 1. The wrinkles between the eyebrows refer to wrinkles that form along the double-eyelid line between the epicanthal fold and the upper eyelid when I open my eyes wide. They said it can’t be helped depending on the person’s eyes. It isn’t a surgical problem, but because it was an unexpected wrinkle, my satisfaction dropped slightly. 2. In the case of the asymmetrical eyes, first it’s because of the double-eyelid line, and second because of the posterior lower canthoplasty shape. My satisfaction is currently a bit lower, but since the asymmetry has improved compared with the early stage, I think my satisfaction will rise after more time passes. They said there will be almost no difference in the double-eyelid line once the swelling goes down, and I also think it will improve. However, I am worried about whether the swelling will really go down. For the lower canthoplasty shape, the left eye is a bit smaller. They say it is a skeletal issue, but in my opinion, I wonder if there is a difference in the lower canthoplasty line itself; still, they said we need to watch it over time. Also, they said that if there is too much difference, correction is possible at the 3-month follow-up, so I am not too worried.
3. When I say I’m dissatisfied, I mean dissatisfaction with the current condition or situation, not dissatisfaction with the clinic or the surgery.
* Recommend vs. do not recommend If I were to recommend it to an acquaintance, I would want to recommend it. First, the doctor is kind, and as you will know if you have a consultation, you can feel his expertise while also feeling that he will sufficiently reflect your requests. In fact, that is how it proceeded. I haven’t had surgery elsewhere, but in many consultations, the typical style was either strongly recommending their own surgical method or saying they could do whatever I asked without enough explanation about the method. No matter what I asked, he answered kindly, and it may just be my feeling, but he proceeded by appropriately reflecting both the surgical method he recommended and my requests. He also gave me confidence until the end so that I could trust him and go into surgery with peace of mind, and he was careful with the design. This was the clinic I chose after visiting more than 10 places, and I do not regret my choice.
* Additional note, just in case For people who are sensitive to how the clinic facilities look or the consultation tone, I would recommend it a little cautiously. The waiting room and consultation room have very clean-feeling interiors, but the inner surgical waiting room or operating room relatively do not have that same feeling. It felt relatively less attended to. (Very subjective) Also, the consultant manager’s professionalism can feel somewhat cold. Of course, she is sufficiently kind and responds thoroughly without any issue in terms of content. But how should I put it, when I was curious about something or wanted to say something, rather than feeling like she was listening, it felt like I was hitting a firm wall? But that’s just the feeling; if you look only at the content, there is absolutely nothing problematic. So for people who are sensitive and particular about each little thing like this, I would recommend it somewhat cautiously. The clinic’s overall atmosphere is like cold kindness? That kind of atmosphere.
