Before going to consultations, the surgeries I wanted were double eyelid surgery and inner/outer canthoplasty. Since they said I could only know whether canthoplasty was possible after going to the clinics, I just kept it in mind, and for the double eyelid line I planned to get the director's recommendation..!
a. Inner canthoplasty X, outer/lower canthoplasty O Here, the director was like, do you really need inner canthoplasty? They said the outer side needs to be lengthened more than the inner corner to make the eyes look more open.. But since I have Mongolian folds, I was a bit worried that if I got double eyelid surgery without inner canthoplasty, the shape of the inner corner might look weird They recommended an in-out line.
b. ㅁㅂ Inner/outer/lower canthoplasty O They said I had enough space and my eyes weren't particularly close together, so I could get all the canthoplasty procedures I wanted. But because all the canthoplasty would be included, they said they wouldn't do it excessively. The director gently pulled my eyes and roughly showed me how the eyes would look after canthoplasty, and it was the feeling I had imagined, so I actually said out loud, "Oh..!" lol. They recommended a semi-out line.
c. ㅋㄹㅁ Inner/outer/lower canthoplasty O This was similar to what the director above said. They said all the canthoplasty I wanted was possible, but if the widening is done too dramatically it might not harmonize with my other facial features, so they suggested opening it moderately, about 1-2 mm. (They said this differs slightly depending on whether it's inner or outer canthoplasty.) But the director also recommended ptosis correction, so I was momentarily flustered...! I said I wasn't considering ptosis correction, and they recommended a semi-out line.
What's interesting is that two places gave almost the same diagnosis, so I think my opinion will lean toward one side. I'm saying this for everyone going to plastic surgery consultations for the first time: most consultations went in the order consultant-director-consultant. The consultant consultation took about 20 minutes, and the director consultation was about 10 minutes at and ㅋㄹㅁ? and about 15 minutes at ㅁㅂ.
I know the times fairly accurately because after each consultation I KakaoTalked my friend saying my consultation was over haha. Still, thanks to carefully researching online before going, all the consultations felt worthwhile.
I'm relieved that both clinics that said inner/outer/lower canthoplasty were all possible also said not to overdo it and to widen naturally. I heard there are many people who had excessive canthoplasty and developed conjunctival edema or side effects, so if I go to more consultations, I plan to look into it within a non-excessive range.
