As I wrote in my previous consultation-shopping review, I had 3 options.
1. Get fat grafting 3 or more times 2. Do fat grafting + implants together 3. Do implants only
But the more I searched about fat grafting... there were good reviews, but also a lot of bad reviews... and a lot of people said implants are better instead (for maintaining size stably). In my opinion, fat grafting felt a bit like a gamble. If it goes well, it goes incredibly well, but if it doesn’t, it’s honestly worse than not doing it at all? It may not end with doing fat grafting 3 times; if it doesn’t engraft, you might have to do it 5 times, 7 times... then the cost is almost the same as breast surgery.
So in the end, I chose implants. I decided on Glam Plastic Surgery, where they had told me to do implants, not fat grafting xxx.
There are honestly a lot of reasons why I chose them, but it would sound like a long love letter to the clinic...
Just understand it as: I went for a second consultation, and the breasts the clinic aims for matched really well with the breast surgery I had in mind, so I went with them.
Things I prepared before surgery -triangle cushion -straws -sports bras (I just bought two in advance lol, Nike ones) -loose pajamas to wear around -nipple patches
I bought these at home, and on the day of surgery I didn’t bring anything to the clinic. I was going to be discharged the same day anyway, and they said it would be painless (since it was a surgical clinic, they used nerve anesthesia via the intercostal area... that... the kind of anesthesia that doesn’t hurt, they explained it but I forgot, sorry)
How I got home on surgery day -I had a guardian lol, but since they couldn’t drive, we just took a taxi together. Opening and closing the door takes arm strength, so I had my guardian do it. (If it’s not during commute hours, public transportation where the doors open and close on their own seems fine too)
My condition at home on surgery day -I don’t remember... I ate and slept. I don’t think it hurt.
Recovery period -Maybe because it was an inframammary incision, day 2 was hard for one day, and from day 3 onward I lived doing everything I needed to. I even washed my hair. (It did pull, but not to the point where I couldn’t do it because it hurt. More like, oh, it feels a bit stiff... while doing it.)
What aftercare did I receive? -Glam has some 1-year program, so every time I go they take care of things for me. I’m currently getting swelling laser treatments. Scar care starts differently for each person depending on how the wound heals.
How are the scars or feel right now? -I don’t know yet. The feel is still firm. I don’t know about the scars either. I only recently started care.
How is swelling and abdominal bloating? -It was crazy at first,, you need to give it time to go down. Taking lots of walks and getting some cool air seems to help.
Satisfaction? -Amazing. They say breasts are the most satisfying among cosmetic surgeries, and I think it’s because you can see the results right away. First of all, they get bigger. They get very big. The before-and-after difference is huge. I think that’s why.
What I want to say -When you’re debating and debating, just do it after thinking a lot. But if you’re not even debating and just impulsively want to do it? Absolutely don’t. And whether it’s breasts or anything else, don’t do it at a place that does everything comprehensively. Even if the director has 30 years of experience, it might be 30 years only in eyes and noses. (Even if they’ve done breasts since then, it may not mean they earned their reputation from breasts.) Honestly, going to a breast surgery clinic gives the most peace of mind... those doctors got their specialist qualification only in breasts... they probably looked at breasts all day long. Later, if you have a breast problem or something, it’s best to go ask your first clinic, so how reassuring would it be to ask at a breast surgery clinic then? I chose my clinic after considering even these things.
