They say people follow friends to Gangnam; when I was around 21 or 22, I heard what my friend said and just went without thinking and had surgery right away. Later, I found out that hospital seemed to be famous for noses. At a young age, I vaguely thought that if they were good at nose surgery, they would probably be good at eyes too. Looking back now, honestly, it was a hospital that only did alar reduction a bit, and did not really do major surgeries like that.
Since I was young, I kept hearing that my eyes looked like tiny salted shrimp and that my eyes were small at school, academy, and home, everywhere, so as I grew up I tried to care less in my own way, but because of that childhood desire, I suddenly had surgery impulsively with my parents' help.
Actually, I had only been thinking about double eyelid surgery and had not thought much about canthoplasty, but while listening to the consultant, I suddenly started considering canthoplasty too.
In the end, for my first eye surgery, I had incisional double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, and medial, lateral, and lower canthoplasty all done. For the first few years after surgery, I did not know my eyes had gone wrong. They had gotten bigger without question, so I was satisfied.
But after a few more years passed, scars I had not noticed gradually became visible.. I realized the shape of the outer corners of my eyes was somehow strange too. The double eyelid lines also somehow looked odd. Uneven double eyelid lines, deformation of the eye-corner shape, foreign-body sensation when closing my eyes, depressed scars under the eyes, uneven canthoplasty, dry eyes
A few years later, I eventually had double eyelid revision surgery, and I also had canthoplasty on one eye again while asking them to match the symmetry.
But what do you know;; the one-eye canthoplasty I got to match the symmetry now makes that eye not close well.. More precisely, unless I consciously try when closing it, it does not close all the way.. The scarring got worse too..
In the end, I am going around for consultations about canthoplasty restoration.. At one place, they said the result I want may not come out.
The cost is also expensive, so it is not easy to even consider it. Even now, the foreign-body sensation is so severe that I cannot sleep well. The photo is from not long after I had double eyelid revision surgery.
