My forehead bone is on the high side, but I thought my side profile was originally okay. From the front, my nose looked wide and bulbous, which stressed me out so much, so after only thinking about it for years, I finally got my nose done. They said they placed the silicone so the starting point of the nasal bridge would be above the double-eyelid line when my eyes are open. But I don’t think that’s the case. I don’t know if it’s swelling, but when I touch it, the silicone definitely feels like it’s higher up... I like that my forehead bone is high and rounded, but after surgery, because the starting point of the nasal bridge is high, I feel like my forehead looks flat. Even while I had the splint on, I said it seemed a bit bent to the left, but they said it wasn’t and that it was because of the splint, so I waited. I had the splint removed yesterday, and as soon as I saw my face on my phone screen, I said it looked bent, the starting point of the nasal bridge seemed too high, and from the front the nasal bridge looked much thinner than I expected. The doctor pressed my nose hard and touched it, then said it was sitting well on the nasal bone, that it could also look that way because my nose was originally deviated, and that since there was still a lot of swelling, I needed to wait. They said to come back at week 2 and they would check again.
And today, day 8, the consultant in charge called and said she couldn’t see me yesterday because she was busy, and asked how I was doing. I told her the things I wrote above, and she said this is the period when everything looks like that and it will get better once the swelling goes down. I also told her that I asked a nurse acquaintance who used to work in an operating room at a plastic surgery clinic, and she immediately said the silicone was bent. Then the consultant said if I was too anxious, it might be better to go back in for revision correction. Since that would mean reopening for revision correction on day 12, I said I was worried that opening it often might cause inflammation and scar tissue to build up, and didn’t they say reopening should be done after 6 months? She said it’s a quick surgery so it’s okay, and suggested doing the revision correction again on Monday evening. For now I scheduled it, but will I be okay... I really, really hoped this would be my first and last surgery... Ha But now they’re saying I need revision correction, so I’m so scared and it’s really hard emotionally... Is there anyone who has had an experience like mine or knows this kind of situation well?
