Breast Surgery Reviews

Vivid same-day review of breast augmentation (long post warning)

I got a lot of help from this community, so I’m leaving a review for everyone who is thinking about surgery and searching endlessly for reviews like I did. This is a fresh review from surgery I had just yesterday! I’m still wrapped in bandages, so I don’t even know what my breasts look like, and I wrote mainly about the pain I felt on the day lol. If you’re curious about how much and in what way it hurts, use this as a reference lol ———————————— [Surgical method] Inframammary incision, dual plane, areolar mammary gland repositioning (spreading the mammary gland), fat grafting to the cleavage area, accessory breast removal, general anesthesia, Motiva 320, 340 cc [Surgery time] Entered the operating room at 9:30 ~ left around 12:50~1:00?? [Same-day review] First surgery slot, arrived at the hospital at 8:30 It was a little embarrassing when they designed the surgical area, but they were extremely thorough. Entered the operating room at 9:30. First they gave an anesthetic injection, then intubated my throat and put me under general anesthesia. When the injection fluid went in, my arm muscle hurt, so I frowned while saying, “Uh, uh, this really hurts??” and then I lost my memory. When I was waking up from anesthesia and coming to, I found myself dreaming and talking total nonsense like crazy... I don’t really remember how I got to the recovery room. They said I came in a wheelchair, but maybe my eyes were closed; my memory of riding the wheelchair and getting onto the recovery room bed is very faint.

For the first hour after entering the recovery room, I was in pain and so cold that I kept getting irritated, but the nurse took good care of me. (They say it’s normal to shiver after coming out of general anesthesia because your body temperature drops.) I vaguely remember the director stopping by while I was shaking from cold and muscle pain and saying it went well,, lol. I grabbed onto the director and whined that it hurt, and they said it would hurt more because my tissue type doesn’t stretch easily.

If you’re someone who already gets cold easily, and you have a guardian, I totally recommend asking them to bring hot packs..! The recovery room is kept very warm and the bed is heated too, but your body temperature doesn’t rise quickly, so for a while at first you don’t really feel the warmth. When my mom, who came as my guardian, put hot packs in my hands, it became bearable.. I also recommend wearing thick socks and keeping them on in the recovery room.

Around 2:30, the anesthesia had worn off and my body temperature gradually came back, so I started to come to my senses, and because of the intubation my throat hurt and I couldn’t speak well. The nurse said I could drink water from 3:00 and brought warm water, so I moistened my throat little by little and fully came to. The nurse fed me one glucose candy, tucked away my messy baby hairs, and was so kind. At 3:30 I was completely awake and walked once to the bathroom; other than the stiffness, I was okay. The nurse clapped because I was walking well lol I was discharged at 4:00 and came home by taxi.

After getting home, if I stayed still, my chest muscles had a dull, tolerable pain and felt extremely stiff. Of course, the moment I used strength to try to grab something, pain came. They told me to eat dinner starting at 7:00, so I ate dinner and lay back down in bed, and from then the painkiller seemed to gradually wear off and it started hurting. They told me to take the prescribed painkiller from the next day, so I tried to sleep after taking one Tylenol, but it hurt so much that I took one more.

I had been leaning on a triangular cushion, but when sleeping I switched to a regular pillow and lay straight because I was worried about ruining my lower back. My right shoulder blade/back muscle pulled so much, and even moving just a little to adjust my body made my chest muscles hurt sooooo much that I thought, “I’m screwed.” I had the humidifier on too, but my throat kept getting dry and painful, so I sprayed Betadine and drank warm water often.

While sleeping, I tried to get up once to go to the bathroom and tasted the first hell. First of all, it felt impossible to lift my torso, so I lowered my legs from the bed first and barely, barely got up by kind of sliding down, and I seriously groaned, “Ugggghhhhh...” How should I put it? It felt like the pain that had been dispersed across my whole chest while I was lying down was affected by gravity the moment I got up and rushed in all at once!! I went to the bathroom while taking deep breaths, hoo, hoo. When I came back, I felt like I could absolutely not lie down again, so I laid down the triangular cushion, put a small wooden neck pillow under my lower back, leaned back, and slept. Still, it hurt less than lying completely flat, so I somehow managed to fall asleep.

+) Since evening, phlegm keeps rattling in my throat, but I can’t spit it out. I don’t know whether it’s phlegm from my allergic rhinitis or some surgical effect.
