Surgery: cheekbones, square jaw, cortical osteotomy, masseter reduction
Progress! I don’t have any pain or discomfort. There is still a little swelling. Sensation has almost come back, but not completely! I think I need a bit more time. For mouth opening, I can only fit two fingers in so I’m going to do my stretching regularly. When I visited the clinic for my 3-month follow-up, the director said there is still swelling but it will go down more, and that the bones are healing very well without any issues!
People around me reacted like this: First,, close friends who know because I told them I had surgery say every time they see me that the swelling has gone down more and my face has gotten even smaller Acquaintances who know I had surgery have said lots of nice things, like where did all my cheekbones go, I’ve really become slimmer, the surgery went well, I look pretty, my face has gotten so small, and so on People who don’t know I had surgery just think I lost weight,,, Personally, I can feel that the swelling is going down when I touch my face while washing it. It feels like, there is still some swelling though?
My lateral cheekbones, 45-degree cheekbones, and square jaw were all quite prominent, but now my facial line has become slimmer, so these days I just wear any hat I want, especially baseball caps and beanies!! I’m also trying the bangs I wanted and a layered cut Now even when I tie my hair up, I don’t really worry much about the angle! I’m going to wear scarves and turtlenecks as much as I want now..
I thought the word “slim” would never suit me, but these days I hear that I look slim, and I feel it myself too ❤️ The things people around me say and trying different styles all make me feel good, but more than anything, I like that I feel better about myself every time I look in the mirror or see my reflection in a window!
Everyone, I hope your surgery/recovery goes well. It will turn out well!!!
Oh, and the photos have not been edited to alter my face shape!!
