Hello, I’m a man in my 20s! I originally had weak eye-opening strength, so I used to walk around with my eyes only half open.. I had monolid eyes, but my face shape was decent and my nose bridge was on the higher side, so there was some demand for my face..? lol It wasn’t a face that made people say “you’re handsome!” wherever I went, but it also wasn’t a face that made people say I was ugly. People with weak eye-opening strength and monolids will relate, but when you take photos you come out looking so bad, and if the photo is taken from far away, your eyes almost disappear.. I suddenly became dissatisfied with my eyes, so I spent about a month going around to consultations, and thinking I should try visiting places one by one, I first went to see Director Oh Hwa-young. I decided that day. I don’t know why! I really looked into it a lot, but I decided right there.
From what I found online, I heard that if you want a definite change, it’s better to do an incisional method, so I decided on incision. The consultation manager told me that if they injected local anesthesia directly into the eye area it would hurt too much, so they would put me under sedation first, then do local anesthesia, wake me up, and proceed with the surgery.
On the day of surgery, I consulted with the director and said I wanted an inner double eyelid! Then I asked, “Do we do sedation first?” and the director looked puzzled and said, “Sedation? We’ll anesthetize the eye area,” From that moment I got so nervous.. (I’m scared of injections and hate pain...) I went into the operating room, and since it was 5 years ago I don’t remember well, but I think they gave about 4 injections above each eye? It did sting and hurt a bit, but it wasn’t truly painful. During the surgery, it didn’t hurt, but I kept feeling like something was being touched, so I kept flinching. The director said that to make prettier eyes, I shouldn’t move, so I held it in! After the surgery, it was hard for me to get back up to Seoul, so after getting the stitches removed I couldn’t go back for follow-up checks!
During recovery, on the first day it felt kind of fascinating that I had double eyelids, and when I woke up after sleeping, I was very swollen! Around day 7? I got the stitches removed, and the double-eyelid line was pretty, so I thought, “I hope it doesn’t get any lower than this!” but in the end it went inward and came down to the point where it only shows slightly! It’s still holding well like that now.
First of all, the change was.. after surgery, wherever I go, I live hearing that I’m handsome. At any gathering, I hear that I’m handsome, and I got approached by the opposite sex really, really a lot over 5 years... It’s a bit embarrassing to say this about myself, but just changing my eyes really changed my life a lot. Even when meeting someone of the opposite sex for the first time, I heard things like, “Since you’re handsome,” “Yeah, because you’re handsome, you can do that,” a lot. With a neighborhood friend I’d been close with since childhood, we used to joke around teasing each other about our faces a lot, but recently even my really close friends said I’m handsome, and I thought, ah, I really have changed a lot.
Now I’ve become interested in my nose and was looking into it, so I’m writing this in case it helps someone! There are many directors famous for eye plastic surgery, but I think my life changed because of before and after eye surgery, and before and after working out. I hope my post is helpful!
