I had my first double eyelid surgery in the provinces with incision + skin excision (because I used to wear double eyelid tape, my skin stretched), but the scar was terrifying 10 years later I had the line lowered, and I think they said they would do a two-line technique by incision, but I’m not sure. They put me under sedation, and when I woke up the surgery was already over (there were a lot of proxy surgeries around then, so I wondered if that happened) The double eyelid came all the way down and I liked it, but as time passed the old line came back, then interfered with the new line, so multiple creases and distorted-looking eyes appeared For the third surgery, I needed the line cleaned up, so after consultation I had them keep the line small, and did fat repositioning + ptosis correction. I didn’t want ptosis correction, but they said I had to do it for the double eyelid to hold well too The result was that my eyes became too round, the double eyelid line became too large, and the fixation was too strong, so it looked very obvious that I had double eyelid surgery
I went to consultations with this history This June, I went to SS and GN (OGH) 1. SS: They told me not to be greedy, and suggested fat grafting and lowering the line just a little with the two-line technique. But they also suggested epicanthoplasty (my inner corners are already quite open), and when I said the fixation was strong and it felt like my eyes were being pulled a lot, they said that was just my subjective thought - pass
2. That Day: The director gave a calm, long consultation. They said I would need the two-line technique, but that the two-line technique itself is a surgery that is done because there is no other choice. In other words, it is a surgery with a high chance of causing multiple creases. They said if I release the ptosis correction that made my eyes too round, the double eyelid line would get bigger. Anyway, the director gave an honest consultation, but the direction they proposed seemed like my eyes would only become slightly smaller than now and still look large, so I passed
After living like that, I started consultations again in December
3. LL: It’s easy, it’s simple, take fat from under the eyes for fat grafting and do this and that, and it’ll all work - I was worried because they seemed to think of it too easily The consultant also asked where else I had consultations, and said looking around a lot won’t do any good, which put me off - pass
4. SPN: It’s easy, let’s excise, everything you want is possible. So I asked, Doctor, I heard the more double eyelid surgery/ptosis correction you do, the worse it is. Is it okay to do it that easily? They said yes, people even do it 10 times, what’s the problem, I’m good at it so it’s fine. That put me off - pass (because I’ve seen a lot of people mess things up and then say something else)
5. GLB (BJC): As I’d heard, they were kind. They said correction is possible for the awkward ptosis correction, large double eyelids, and sunken eyelids, but eyelash eversion can’t be helped. They even seemed regretful themselves and said, so I’ll try my best within the current condition~ They were the kindest, so I was touched. In the app reviews, all the photos were natural-looking eyes I liked, but I’ve seen here and there that the fixation is deep or there are dissatisfied cases, and it’s not easy to find information. I’ve put this place as candidate 1 for now, but I really hope this is my last time. Someone please give me advice
6 TS (OSG): The director consulted with a slightly indifferent attitude. They said eyelash eversion can’t be helped, and suggested lowering the double eyelid line, revising the ptosis correction, and fat grafting. They told me not to expect too much. I pay a 20,000 won consultation fee, but they didn’t seem very invested, so I felt like I would be the one clinging more. Reviews say the doctor is really meticulous with surgery,,, There isn’t much consultation content to write, but somehow that tired yet confident look makes me have expectations. Candidate 2
7 MSRY: I don’t know why, but seeing the director’s face felt like seeing a celebrity. They drew my eyes and explained, then at the end it was question time: “Now, questions.” They said not to expect too much, they could lower the line a bit, a small double eyelid would be difficult, they would lower it slightly, and they don’t do fat grafting (they said the risks outweigh the benefits). At the end I said, Doctor, there are so few reviews, please show me some photos. They said everyone would only show the good results anyway, so why ask to see them, and among the photos they showed, I saw eyes where the before and after looked the same, so I asked, Doctor, what changed here? and they said, “You think this didn’t change?” So somehow I thought my eyes might end up like that, and I wasn’t drawn to it. The consultant was simple, but when I asked, why are there so few reviews? they said, I know, people don’t post the good ones and only post the bad ones,, and my feelings cooled
Ha... this is long. Lastly, I’m debating whether to go to Apgujeong Sewing Machine OOO (BBJ) or not. Someone please give me advice, I’m desperate. I want to stop doing double eyelid surgery
