1. Reason for revision surgery My first nose surgery used ear cartilage and L-shaped silicone (I thought it wasn't that, but it turns out they used something like that, which isn't even used these days..) I didn't have side effects, but silicone usually slips downward, whereas mine moved upward, so the nasal bridge stood up like an Avatar, and the convex part of the L shape rose up around the middle of the nasal tip/alar area, making my nose shape strange.
And I thought they had used ear cartilage there, but they hadn't used all the ear cartilage; they had really taken and used only a bean-sized amount.
2. Reason for choosing the hospital My mom was searching online and found a place that pursues natural beauty and specializes in revision surgery, so we went for a consultation that Thursday. But it wasn't an appointment-only consultation with no wait, so I think I waited about 1-2 hours. Since it was late February, maybe because it was the off-season? There weren't that many people there for consultations, and I was able to choose a surgery date that was mostly convenient for me.
3. Consultation review Surprisingly, there are many bad reviews about the consultation, but for me, I thought maybe this is a professor-type style, so it was listenable and informative. The main point was that they would restore the nasal septum as much as possible to its original state, use ear cartilage that the body would reject as little as possible, and make the nose shape according to natural beauty. You know the golden 1:1 ratio involving the forehead and other facial features??
But honestly, I didn't have a desired shape and just wanted a smooth nasal bridge and a natural-looking nose, so I didn't consult in detail about the nose shape or style.
I had planned to visit one or two more places for consultations, but they said they could reduce the nostrils without incising the alar base, and my mom, who was fixated on alar reduction, strongly urged me to decide on the surgery.
4. Surgical details Since it has been 10 months, I don't remember exactly, but I remember it was something like alar reduction (not an incision), restoration of the collapsed nasal septum using dermis around the alar area and ear cartilage from both sides, that sort of thing.
5. Postoperative care I received hyperbaric oxygen chamber care. After surgery, the care and suture removal were not done by the doctor, but by someone like the head nurse?? (I'm leaving this here because many people ask why the doctor doesn't do these things.) The day after nose surgery, they removed the splint and showed me my nose... It looked much worse than I expected lololololololol I was really shocked;;; At that time, they wiped my nose once and tied it tightly again with the splint. Other than that, I went for doctor consultations up to one month, but they said I only needed to come until one month and didn't have to come after that, so I didn't go. They said that after one month, I could do anything I wanted and drink alcohol if I wanted, so after that, I did drink a bit, though not too heavily, and for exercise, I focused on cardio until two months.
6. Overall review Honestly, in the beginning my nose looked unattractive, and the swelling seemed a bit uneven, but once the swelling went down more than I expected, it looked natural, so people around me absolutely don't know I had my nose done.. There was an area that had stretched because the existing silicone had moved upward, and the swelling there didn't go down well, so that did bother me. In conclusion, I'm happy because it turned out natural.
And I was in pain for quite a long time, more than I expected.. Ear cartilage for about a month and a half..? Nose pain lasted about 3 days, but the overall foreign-body sensation in my nose lasted, I think, about 3 months. Then it suddenly got much better.
These days, it seems like not many people get natural-looking nose surgery, so I'm leaving this review for reference. It also seems like this director doesn't do surgery much these days?? They say he specializes in revision surgery, and I was very satisfied.
Oh! And the price! This place is famous for being expensive, and including additional costs, it came to roughly 14 million won, so if anyone wants to refer to that, please do.. I'm satisfied with it as much as it was expensive.
