Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

A satisfying contouring real review.

Before<Photo taken right after changing into a gown before surgery.>Before<A side-profile photo before surgery.>After<Current photo at 3 weeks after surgery. I’m very satisfied, and first of all, the swelling has gone down a lot, but there is still a slight loss of sensation around the mouth, the lower jaw area is still quite swollen, and it feels unnatural>After<For now, I’m happy that the angle of the jaw below the ears has become shorter~ The lower swelling is still severe, so I’ll have to wait and see~><Before surgery> I had always thought that with my prominent side cheekbones, 45-degree cheekbones, and long face, I was the kind of face that could fail even if I had contouring surgery. My cheekbones were prominent, so the front view looked sunken, and my 45-degree cheekbones were also prominent, so I was always dissatisfied when taking side-profile photos So when I started thinking about surgery, I tried to choose a hospital that could effectively reduce my cheekbones while also compensating for my long face, and after visiting about five places, I chose YG Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery^^ Actually, I first came across Director Lee Seok-jae through YouTube, and he seemed like the kind of person who clearly says no when something simply can’t be done and helps you let go of unrealistic expectations. At the actual consultation, he said again that if the cheekbones were reduced too much, the face would look longer, so he proposed a suitable solution for balancing my long face by reducing them appropriately and using T-osteotomy and cortical bone shaving~ And in fact, my younger sibling had already had contouring triple surgery with Director Lee Seok-jae and was very satisfied and looked great, so by the time I went to the consultation I had already made up about 80 percent of my mind, and I booked the surgery date on the same day~

<On the day of surgery> I arrived 30 minutes early, changed clothes, filled out the consent forms with the manager, and then had a design consultation with the director. When I showed the director photos of famous influencers, he firmly said I couldn’t look like that Instead, he explained that the important thing was to operate in a way that suited my face, and the manager reassured me. I went into the operating room a little nervous, and then as I lay down the anesthesia gas came in. When I woke up, more than three hours had passed, the surgery was over, and I was in the recovery roomㄷㄷ It was much less painful than I expected, and there wasn’t really much of anything, so I was relieved. After that, the director came in and said the surgery went well. He said I had become a little less slim than I had expected, but that men are attractive when they look masculine, so I just accepted that and stayed a little dazed. After the director left, I was cared for by the nurse in the recovery room, saw the director the next morning, and was discharged. There was no pain at all, and I couldn’t eat anything, including water, until midnight, so my throat was a little dry, but it was fine~

<Day 3> The swelling reached its peak, and my acquaintances were shocked every time they saw me. I also looked in the mirror and wondered, can I really swell this much? I was a little anxious, thinking whether this would even go down, but actually that wasn’t the main issue. My mouth was swollen, and I’m not sure if it was a side effect of general anesthesia, but my throat hurt so, so much. My throat really hurt so badly, I kept coughing up bloody phlegm, I couldn’t chew so I was hungry, the weather was cold, and my throat hurt too, so I got body aches, couldn’t sleep, the inside of my mouth was all torn up too. I mean, after contouring surgery I didn’t have any facial pain, but because of the throat pain and body aches I really thought I was going to die for a whole week. Honestly, it was really hard. Everyone, aftercare after contouring surgery is really hard and really important. Thinking “I’ll just take 4 or 5 days off, go to work wearing a mask, and it’ll be fine” is a huge mistake. At minimum, think of it as resting properly for more than a week, walk often, take your medication properly, and please don’t do the things the hospital tells you not to

<2 to 3 weeks> By now my throat doesn’t hurt anymore and I’m no longer coughing up bloody phlegm. All the stitches inside my mouth have been removed, and from around day 5 the swelling started to go down little by little. By around week 3, it had gone down quite a bit compared to day 3~ I also had my chin moved forward by 2 mm, and my chin became very slim. Before, the jawbone below my ears was long and large, but now the shorter shape is clearly visible, and most importantly, I didn’t completely push in the cheekbones, but I did noticeably move them in, so my features seem to stand out more clearly! There is still a lot of swelling in the cheeks and overall face when viewed from the side, but people around me all say good things, and my younger sibling who had the surgery is also very happy and says it turned out really well. Above all, I like it myself, so I’m happy There is still a long way to go before all the swelling goes down, but if I already like it this much… For now I’ll keep walking hard and doing warm compresses diligently, and I’ll write another review at the one-month mark!
