Honestly, there were many other criteria I used when choosing, but these were the things I was most satisfied with at the clinic where I had surgery.
When I consulted with the manager, I liked that she counseled me like a real older sister. Since I had thick skin and a bulbous nose, I had done a lot of online and in-person research and had more or less decided on autologous costal cartilage before going. But I felt like the manager was discouraging me because using autologous costal cartilage at a young age can leave a scar.
During the director’s consultation, other clinics had said that to correct a bulbous nose, I would need alar reduction. But this director said that shaving down the hump and creating the line should come first, and that I did not necessarily need alar reduction, which made me trust him more.
Day of surgery I had so little swelling that I was like, huh? According to my mom, in the recovery room I repeatedly said that the director was famous for having patients with little swelling, but I don’t remember lol
Days 2-3 I watched vlogs beforehand, so I thought I would swell a lot, but I’m not the type to bruise, and I also had little swelling, so I went back to school right away from day 3.
Day 7 Because costal cartilage was used, the cotton packing was removed after one week, and it felt seriously so refreshing. A lot of my swelling had gone down by the one-week mark.
After surgery, I visited the clinic about two times for care, and because I arrived too early, I ran into the director, and he remembered me and greeted me.
I was most thankful to the manager. As I mentioned at the beginning, I had a lot of documents to submit to school, so even after surgery I kept persistently asking questions by KakaoTalk and phone. Later on I actually felt sorry and started watching her reaction a bit, but she never acted bothered at all. Instead, she asked if there was anything else I needed and I could feel that she was trying to help, so I felt sorry and was very grateful to her..
The post-op photos are from one month and one week after surgery. After the surgery, I also took new ID photos. After getting it done, I do regret thinking, I should have done it before taking my graduation photos... but I still have the graduation ceremony left lol
