I had armpit-incision surgery the year before last, and it has now been over a year. It has been quite a while since I had the surgery, and now the scar has faded so much that it is hard to tell whether it is an armpit wrinkle or an incision line. At first, when I was getting the surgery, I had also considered an inframammary incision, since it has the advantage of faster recovery... But I thought the surgical scar underneath might show when lying down, so I had the surgery through an armpit incision. Looking back now, I think it was fortunate that I chose the armpit incision. In any case, after getting treatment, it has faded, and it really is hard to distinguish from the wrinkles now.
I'm not saying an inframammary incision is worse than an armpit incision or anything, but I wrote this review thinking it might be helpful as a reference for those preparing for an armpit incision. It is true that scars improve more if you receive treatment, and they also fade to some extent over time. For treatment, I had scar laser treatment at the clinic twice and managed it consistently with ointment. Consistent care definitely works well.
Maybe because it is an armpit incision, I don't really pay attention to it much, and I don't even look closely at it. I do ballet, and I have no problem stretching my arms upward! After treatment, I think you need to watch the scar for about a year before the improvements become clearly visible. For those who feel disappointed because it shows when wearing sleeveless tops like these days, you do have to accept that to some extentㅜㅜ
If you are looking at the long term, I definitely think an armpit incision is better. Since the surgeon's skill and your skin type have a big impact, you also need to put in the effort to look around for a place that is good at scar treatment so you can get good results. It really varies case by case, so I hope your scar improves well with the best choice you can make!!
