The day has finally come for me to post my day 18 reviewㅠㅠ I think I kept feeling anxious even after the removal. Honestly, I still panic whenever the shape changes even a little (I think I was so stressed even before the removal that I developed panic after the revision surgery....) But compared with the early days, I think I worry much less now.
Since everyone seems to go through similar experiences around similar times, I’ll first talk about the things I was especially worried about!
First, from week 1 until now, my nasal bridge has not been smooth. You can tell from my previous removal review, but after the silicone was removed, the director wrapped fascia around cartilage and covered the nasal bridge with it. As time passes it is gradually getting smoother, so I wonder if it is swelling, but for now it is still bumpy. Especially early on, blood collected in my nasal bridge and was removed, and that swelling is still there.
Also, around week 2, a horizontal line appeared on my nasal bridge, and I panicked. It seems many other people experience this too. Apparently a horizontal line can form because it gets pressed by the splint. And in my case, there was swelling like a hump above the pressed area, so I think it looked deeper. It is okay now.
And around week 2, I suddenly felt like it was contracting sharply, so I kept waking up while sleeping...! That seems a little better now too...
My biggest recent concern is that I had cartilage visibility at my nasal tip, so that area was corrected, but from the first day of surgery, a long red mark and something like a depressed scar appeared there. It keeps fading, but there is still a groove left, so I’m worriedㅠㅠ If you look at the photos, you can see it at the nasal tip. I don’t know if it will gradually improve.
I’m also worried that my nasal bridge might become bumpy, and I developed a large amount of scar tissue inside my nose (I don’t know whether it is scar tissue or a keloid). It formed after my first surgery too and was removed, but the larger scar tissue is bothering me. If anyone has something similar to me, please leave a commentㅠㅠ
Actually, unlike my initial plan, I ended up doing it almost like a reconstruction rather than just removal, as the director recommended, so I’m satisfied with the shape. If anything, my side profile is prettier now. Lastly, until when should I worry about inflammation from a postoperative infection? I’ve been using a humidifier (I heard that if water collects on the nose, it can cause an infection), washed my face from day 6, and applied sunscreen from day 7, so I’m wondering when I can feel reassured about those previous actions(?)!
Also, does warm compressing cause a lot of cartilage absorption...? If anyone has heard about this, please leave a review...!
