It’s been almost 2 years since surgery.
<Before> Eye condition: small clam-like eyes, monolids, small eyes short both horizontally and vertically, thick eyelid tissue (they said it was a case where the skin itself is thick)
<Consultation details> ㆍThey said my skin itself is on the thicker side, so only the incisional method was possible, and if the line were set high, I’d get sausage eyes, so they suggested going with an incisional inner double eyelid. ㆍI really hate sausage eyes and also like inner double eyelids, so I decided on an inner double eyelid.
ㆍ Because my epicanthal folds were severe, I decided to do epicanthoplasty, and because my eye-opening strength was too weak, I decided to do ptosis correction. ㆍFor lateral canthoplasty, they said they could do it if I really wanted, but that I was a case where I wouldn’t see much effect, so I didn’t do it.
ㆍI got a price discount through the college entrance exam event. (If you’re going, go after the exam ㄱㄱ)
<What I felt after the consultation> ㆍI liked that they didn’t recommend unnecessary things. ㆍThe way they spoke felt sincere and serious, so it somehow made them feel even more trustworthy. ㆍThe consultant was also kind.
<Surgery process> ㆍSedation anesthesia + local anesthesia ㆍIt didn’t hurt. It felt like getting my eyebrows trimmed.
<Surgery review> ㆍFirst of all, the family member who had surgery together with me had a good result. Their eyelid skin was thin, and since he was male, he did the thinnest inner double eyelid, so his eyes got bigger naturally.
But for me... ㆍMaybe because my skin is thick, it took a long time for the swelling to go down. It might still be going down even now...
ㆍAt first, the double eyelid line extended all the way to the end of my eye... but maybe the outer end came undone, because from about the 3/4 point, the double eyelid line disappears. But since that area is over the eye bone in the first place... I also wonder if it’s natural for it to disappear. Anyway, because of that, it looks somehow unnatural.
ㆍStill, my previous eyes were such a big complex for me that I don’t regret the surgery.
ㆍBut my mom got a recommendation from an acquaintance and told me not to look into other hospitals and just do it here... so I keep thinking maybe it could have been better if I’d gone somewhere else... ㆍMaybe it’s because I couldn’t do the thing I wanted most, lowering the outer corners of my eyes. Since only the inner corners were opened, the outer corners look relatively more upturned, so I’m sad. I want to at least try outer-corner eye surgeryㅠㅠ
