✅ Procedure details: Since I was paying a lot of money for it, I wanted it to look noticeable rather than too natural, so I asked them to make it bigger than an inner double eyelid. I emphasized a semi-out? in-out? line. For celebrity reference photos, I brought photos of Kang Tae-ri and Yeonwoo from Momoland. Partial incision + ptosis correction + medial epicanthoplasty + upper epicanthoplasty + Botox for under-eye hollowness (the price was roughly around 2.3 million won)
✅ Why I decided to get the procedure: My eyes are the deeply set type. And I have more flesh on my upper eyelids than others (or so I thought, though the director didn’t tell me I had a lot of fat). So I tried Olive Young thread-type double-eyelid tape too (I had too much flesh, so it didn’t even work and I wasted money..^^) I also tried those double-eyelid glasses that used to be trendy. I even tried a type of double-eyelid tape where you wet it with water and stick it on the eyelid, then the tape dries so it shows less than regular double-eyelid tape, but it didn’t really help.. (Honestly, that didn’t work well for me either.) Most of all, my eye shape didn’t show my whole pupil, so it was really stressful and a complex for me. It made me look really unfriendly, and my eyes looked droopy and not good.. I was so annoyed that my eyes looked half-closed over my pupils. Even if I used double-eyelid tape, my eyes are deeply set, so my eyelashes didn’t show well, and when I wore eyeshadow I looked bruised.. Only monolid people know this pain.. I visited about 8 clinics in Busan and decided on the clinic. I hope you check the reason I chose that clinic in my consultation-visit review.. I’m too lazy to write it, hehe
✅ Tips for choosing a clinic: Since it was my first surgery, and of course revision surgery is also very important, but a first surgery is really scary, right? I was entrusting my eyes to someone, so it was hard to decide. These days people say everyone gets double-eyelid surgery as if it’s just a procedure, but personally, I think it’s really important because you’re entrusting your face to a complete stranger. So I think you should only take comments like “Oh, this is where I had mine done and they were good” or “Someone I know had it done here and it came out well” as reference and otherwise ignore them. I also think you need to filter what you see on apps, Naver cafes, and so on. Even when looking at procedure review photos, don’t look at makeup photos. It’s best to only use bare-face photos as reference!! I chose the clinic only by referring to blog review photos! There really is a clinic that suits each person. There are tons of cases where people went because others had good results, but it turned out badly for them. It’s best to just trust your own feeling and decide. At least it’s your own choice, so I think you’ll have fewer regrets because you didn’t decide based on other people’s opinions. In my case, price was secondary, and I focused on whether the doctor and I were a good fit. Basically, whether communication worked well or not. My priority was checking whether what I wanted to do matched the direction the doctor wanted to take. Going around for consultations is really hard (for reference, I did it in the summer.. tears), but it’s practically like entrusting your life, so I think that much effort is only natural. I don’t think becoming prettier is simply easy, so everyone, fighting!
✅ Review from the day of the procedure: It was my first time in my life having such a major surgery, so I was really nervous... My heartbeat was insanely fast, and I could hear it beating fast too, so I felt a bit embarrassed At some point, the assistants were saying something and said they were putting something in, so I said okay, but I guess that was sedation anesthesia..? Something like that.. For a moment my head felt really dazed, and I had definitely closed my eyes and thought everything was black, but the whole world looked extremely white.. It felt like I had come to another world.. Then the doctor asked if it seemed like the anesthesia had worked well, so I was like, uh, yes, and the surgery proceeded. Before surgery, I had read a lot of double-eyelid surgery reviews, and people said you can hear a crunching sound of flesh being cut, so I was so scared... But I didn’t have the mind to notice that. Maybe because I was under anesthesia, I didn’t feel anything like that lolololol The anesthesia method was partial sedation anesthesia. The doctor was very meticulous (this is why I chose the clinic lol), so I opened and closed my eyes a lot!!! So I was very satisfied with the surgery process. When they put filler in my under-eye hollowness, it also felt like they were filling it very meticulously and thoroughly!!! I’m very satisfied! When I went for my 1-week follow-up, they examined me carefully, and when they put in the second round of filler too, needless to say.. they placed it meticulously..
✅ Review immediately after the procedure: I had seen several reviews from people saying they could go home alone after surgery, but those people are truly amazing.. I felt like I was in so much pain I could die, so my parents supported me and I went home in our car. I really kept bleeding, and it hurt so, so much.... Until the stitches were removed, I kept feeling pain. Every time I did cold compresses, blood kept getting on the gauze? or whatever it was.. In my case, I was a freelancer, so it was okay for me to take a short break from work, and for 4 days I did cold compresses around the clock. I really kept taking short naps and even kept doing cold compresses at dawn.. In between, my mother also changed the cold compresses for me.. (I didn’t like them warming up quickly, so I froze the cold packs in the freezer before using them. I don’t know about others, but I had no problems.) After the stitches were removed, I did warm compresses for a week, but after that I got lazy and stopped. Oh, and having the stitches removed hurt sooooooooo much..... Ah!!!! Right, the bruising really didn’t go away even after 2 weeks, so I went to an ophthalmologist, and they said it was just bleeding and a natural phenomenon.. I was only prescribed things like artificial tears.. and I didn’t need to worry.. It was all gone by one month! Oh, and rubbing my eyes.. I couldn’t do it until the 2-month mark because my eyelids hurt so much.. Now I can rub my eyes like they’re my own!
✅ Tips to reduce swelling quickly: You don’t need medicine. Compresses are the answer. And going for frequent walks is seriously insanely effective. There’s also a medicine I’m still taking now, and I think those who know will know. They say people who’ve had plastic surgery always take it! It’s expensive, but it works! I highly recommend One Quick swelling medicine. It’s okay to take 3 a day (morning/lunch/evening intervals).
✅ What changed after the procedure: My self-esteem got much higher. Before, I edited my photos so heavily that it was like “Who is this?” but now I take photos with less editing. My confidence in my face is hitting MAX. And the reactions from people around me: they say I look definitely much better now than before. At the time of the procedure, my mom said I looked older now and had lost my cute charm, so I was super shocked.. But now she says my eyes look really bright, cute, and pretty So everyone, be patient and fighting.. Especially for incision surgery, it depends on the person, but they say swelling lasts 6 months to 1 year, so you really need to be patient and manage it diligently! And most of all, monolid people will know.. When curling eyelashes, it is seriously a whole new world..... You end up thinking, wow, my eyelashes were this pretty. And the long-awaited makeup eyeshadow... Now my eyes don’t look bruised... I’m so happy... I’m definitely hearing that my eyes look more open and refreshed and my overall impression has improved a lot!!! These days taking photos is so enjoyable It’s delicious...
