I’m scheduled for revision eye surgery, and I’ve had consultations at 4 places in total. At 2 places, they said any clinic recommending an upper epicanthoplasty would be crazy, that I shouldn’t go there or do it.. They said there’s nowhere left to open up on my eyes. At the other 2 places, they said I have no choice but to do it if I want symmetry (because of the Mongolian fold...)
I’ve never had any canthoplasty before, and even to me, there really doesn’t seem to be anywhere else to open up.. My lacrimal caruncle is already fully visible, but they’re saying it’s for symmetry.
Would it be right to do ptosis correction + double eyelid surgery + upper epicanthoplasty, or would it be right not to do the upper epicanthoplasty.. It’s hard because every clinic says something different The places saying I need the upper epicanthoplasty told me that if I do a semi-out fold, they can make the symmetry match to some extent, but if I want an in-out fold, I need the upper epicanthoplasty to make it symmetrical.. As far as I know, when you do an upper epicanthoplasty, the inner corner inevitably opens a little too, but they say it won’t open the front and that it’s okay to do it.. Which one is right...
