As a man, I was looking for a clinic that would make it look natural, and I want to share the consultation details from a place I liked. I’m going to write it in a summarized style, so please understand that I’ll be writing informally..
*Olo 1) They have CCTV, but since the surgery is done with my eyes open and while I’m conscious with the director, separate recording probably won’t be necessary 2) The director will handle all aftercare, and it includes bruise laser, swelling laser, scar injection/laser 3) The schedule is to come in the day after surgery for treatment, then come in on day 7 to remove the stitches
<At the clinic> They first guided me to the consultation room, where I briefly filled out a chart. Then I moved to the eye photo area, put on a headband, took photos, waited a bit, and then met the consultant
<Consultation with the consultant> It was impressive that the consultant introduced herself. Usually I leave without even knowing the consultant’s name, but here she pointed to her name tag and greeted me first, so from a patient’s perspective it wasn’t a bad experience
Her way of speaking wasn’t burdensome and she treated me kindly, and I thought it was good that she apologized in advance about the waiting time While waiting, I didn’t get annoyed or wonder how much longer I had to wait
The consultant first held up an eye line for me. Then we looked at the photos together and she also checked my eye structure Whether my eyes were protruding, what my eyelid skin was like, whether I had ptosis (opening my eyes with forehead strength), what my current double eyelid line was like, what the epicanthal fold area was like, etc. I explained the eye shape I wanted, she gave me a rough diagnosis first, and then I met the director
<Consultation with the director> It didn’t take long to see the director. I think I waited about 10 minutes. That’s decent He also tested my eye structure + eye-opening strength + which eye I mainly use to look He explained why ptosis correction is necessary, and said I need it because I open my eyes using my forehead strength He said opening my eyes would become easier. He said if I don’t do ptosis correction while young, in 10 years my eyebrows may become asymmetric, and since I open my eyes with eyebrow strength, muscle tightness could develop and my brows may protrude. He said the eyelid skin would also keep sagging.. And we looked at the line together, and he tried this and that, holding up many different lines to find the one that suited me I looked in the mirror along with the lines he made, and because there were various designs, it was also fun to look at
It felt like he was trying to tell me as much as possible (While explaining ptosis in detail, he even talked about which part of the brain is mainly used.. Anyway, it was interesting)
I thought the consultation with the director was really long. I think I talked with him for about 20 minutes
<Final consultation> Lastly, when I talked with the consultant, she explained the ptosis correction surgery method She summarized again what the director had said: that it’s a choice between incisional and non-incisional, but if I’m doing ptosis correction, incisional would likely be better
She said the incision area would be along the double eyelid line, and that incisions would be made for the medial epicanthoplasty and upper epicanthoplasty areas For ptosis correction, when they incise the skin and go inside, there are muscles, and the eye-opening muscles are in the muscle flap~ She said during surgery they’ll ask me to open~ and close my eyes, and while doing that they’ll attach the weak muscle to the flap and fix it in place She explained that it’s muscle surgery to adjust the length so I can open my eyes without using my brows
She said she hopes I choose a clinic that suits me well and make a good decision Both the director and consultant gave me their business cards They saw me off and said goodbye until the end
