Breast Re-Surgery

Review After Safely Finishing the Revision Surgery I Was So Scared Of

Hi everyone I finally finished my revision surgery well and returned safely. While looking into revision surgery, I was so obsessively stuck in this community, researching and worrying, that I wondered if I was going to end up mentally unwell. I was writing posts all the time too, but maybe time was ultimately the answer, because I had the surgery and came back well... There were also some people who occasionally asked me for a review through private comments, so I’m going to ramble a bit and write my revision surgery review!! From here on, I’ll write casually in a clipped style.

Honestly, I wasn’t only excited.. Since it wasn’t my first surgery. To briefly explain why I thought about revision surgery, it was because of the breast pain I had during my period (though I think that was due to hormones) and because my breasts were way too large for my frame... I was so, so dissatisfied, so I decided on revision surgery to adjust the size.

There were lots of twists and turns starting from consultations.. but I already posted a consultation review, so I’ll skip that. Starting from the day before surgery, I couldn’t sleep all night.. lol I heard it’s good to sleep deeply, so I lay down early to manage my condition, but I just kept my eyes closed and tossed and turned.. In the end, I took out my phone and looked up reviews, fell asleep late at dawn, and went into surgery with some fatigue still not relieved. Maybe because the anesthesiology director was a woman, she gently told me not to worry.. I remember hearing that voice as I went under general anesthesia. And when I opened my eyes, I was in the recovery room.. The surgery was over.

I think about 4 to 5 hours had passed. I don’t know if it was because I had a pain-control injection or what, but on the day of surgery it didn’t hurt at all, and they told me to avoid moving my arms as much as possible, so I went home and just lay there like a corpse..

And from the next day, I slowly started to feel stiffness + occasional throbbing, but since I had learned from my first surgery that I really shouldn’t do anything at all at this time, I barely moved, just really slowly. I only moved when going to the bathroom and things like that, but I even hated opening doorknobs lolol so I kept every door to each room as open as possible and didn’t close them..

And now it’s been about 2 weeks, and it’s manageable I can use my arms by myself and move around well. The biggest thing is that once the size got smaller, nothing bothered me anymore, and when I wear clothes, the fit is exactly what I wanted. My frame looks much smaller too.... It doesn’t even look like operated breasts. My shoulders feel much lighter too... and the way they used to roll forward like rounded shoulders feels less severe, though I don’t know if that’s just my imagination lol

I’ll know more about the texture and things once more swelling goes down, but I’m going to diligently keep my weekly visits. When I went for dressing last time, they said the surgery went well, so I glanced at the pre-op photos (the ones the consultant took), and I really thought, wow, it can change this much. That’s why I thought the size really has to suit your rib cage safely so you won’t regret it for life.

I had so much emotional distress all this time, and I’m happy I can stop worrying lolol Even if I regret things, nothing will change anyway, so from now on I’m going to manage it well and wear pretty clothes as much as I want.

Oh, to add more info, inframammary fold / dual-plane, I changed from Mentor Smooth to Motiva, and I had it done at Glam.

Later, once things settle to some extent, I’ll come back to share the texture and stuff... and the differences. Thanks for reading!
