Eye Re-Surgery

Review of under-eye fat repositioning and anterior cheek fat grafting

2 months after surgery + review of 1st and 2nd rounds of fat grafting I always had dark circles around my eyes, but as I got older, the area under my eyes and toward the anterior cheeks started to sag. My face looked dull, and people around me often asked if I was sick. While looking through reviews on a cosmetic-surgery review app to find a place for surgery, the review photos by Dr. Jang Wook at Objet Plastic Surgery looked natural and pretty, so I chose Dr. Jang Wook at Objet Plastic Surgery! I had consultations elsewhere too, but here they only recommended the surgeries and procedures I needed, so the consultation ended quickly too!

How I’ve felt since having surgery during the Chuseok week in September!

Immediately after surgery to day 4: I had the surgery under sleep anesthesia where I woke up partway through. After surgery, they told me to rest until I wasn’t dizzy before leaving, but I rested for about 10 minutes and went home. On the way, I vomited right away because of the medication; when resting, it’s important to rest deeply for about an hour before getting up Otherwise, dizziness comes right away! The surgical area doesn’t hurt, but it swells a lot and feels hard. When you start cold compresses, tears and bloody tears come from your eyes, but I had heard that was normal, so I didn’t think much of it. I was worried the swelling wouldn’t go down if I slept lying down, so I propped pillows and blankets behind my back and slept sitting up. When I woke up, there was a lot of eye discharge, but nothing hurt:D

Week 2: Daily life is possible as soon as the tape is removed on day 4, but I recommend wearing a mask. Still, it’s a major surgery, so it shows on the face. Take it off from week 2. From then on, you at least look more human. To my eyes, there was still a lot of swelling left, but people around me said it didn’t look like I’d had surgery and just looked like I had gained a little facial fat. So it’s okay to take off the mask in daily life! It doesn’t look like you had cosmetic surgery. There’s a bit of discomfort when closing and opening the eyes, and the under-eye area is a little itchy! You don’t become pretty right away, so from week 2, you don’t need to stress. You have to wait.

Week 4: The long-awaited one-month mark... all the major swelling disappeared. From now on, the face looks pretty. The fat grafting and surgery had made me look plump like Anpanman, but as the swelling went down, the under-eye area became brighter, and the fat placed in the anterior cheek area settled in too, so my looks really started to shine. People around me also said I looked better because I no longer looked tired, and everyone started considering under-eye fat repositioning. Still, there is a slight itchy? feeling under the eyes, but I don’t even care about that. Since the hollow, tired look is gone, I can confidently walk under the morning sunlight

Month 2: It feels like just yesterday I was anxiously wondering when the swelling would go down, but now I’m anxious that the fat might disappear. So I immediately booked the second round of fat grafting and had it done at the 2-month mark. There was no sleep anesthesia or anything; they just anesthetized the under-eye area and injected the fat right away. It didn’t swell that much, but I think there was some swelling for about a week. It settled again by week 2.

Surgery review: I’m so satisfied! I always used to hear that I looked hollow and tired, or that people asked if I was sick... Those comments completely disappeared. I feel good about it myself, and people around me also respond well~ I was so anxious after surgery, but there weren’t any detailed reviews, so I wrote this at length~!! If you’re worried because your under-eye area is dark, go get a consultation-!!
