Before <before surgery> After <5 days after surgery (lips were a mess)> After <2 months after surgery><sideburn incision area> It has been two months since I had 3-part facial contouring at Lavian Plastic Surgery. I’m leaving a detailed review in case it helps everyone who has surgery coming up.
*Day of surgery When I woke up from anesthesia, I was very dizzy. Because I had a drain on, even drinking water was uncomfortable and frustrating. The pain was better than I expected,,
*Day 2 I could feel my face swelling more and more, and the compression band was so stuffy that I kept waking up throughout the early morning. My mouth wouldn’t open, so I drank soy milk and ion drinks. There wasn’t as much pain as I expected; rather, my face felt compressed because of the band, which was uncomfortable, and the gum area hurt.
*Day 5 I went to the hospital, had the stitches removed, took off the compression band, and received aftercare. It felt so refreshing and relieving! I thought the line wouldn’t show because I was full of swelling, but before surgery my chin tip was straight and really blunt. Seeing that I had a chin tip was fascinating and made me so happy that I looked in the mirror all day. But my lips were so swollen lololololololol (see photo)
*Week 2 This was when I suddenly felt the swelling go down a lot. I did warm compresses every evening and practiced opening my mouth, so my mouth opened much better and eating became easier. As long as the food wasn’t too tough or hard, I could eat most things. Until one week, I barely went on walks, so the swelling went down slowly, but once I really walked regularly, I felt the swelling go down quickly.
*Month 1 Maybe because I got used to it, but by one month I was living the same daily life as before surgery, without much difference. There wasn’t anything particularly uncomfortable about eating, and I could yawn with my mouth wide open just fine. The scars near the sideburns are hardly visible, so unless people look closely, no one knows. There is still swelling in the lower cheek area, but in photos my face definitely looks much smaller than before surgery, and I can see that the contour line has softened, so I’m really very satisfied. There is still swelling, but compared with the photo from day 5, I look human now. Maybe because of the swelling, my face also looks younger lol
*Now at 2 months Double-chin swellingㅠㅠ The cheek swelling is also going down slightly unevenly. Really, swelling.. It had been going down noticeably day by day, but now it feels like the swelling reduction has kind of stopped, so I’m waiting, thinking time will answer it... Other than that, I live the same as before surgery, to the point that I forget I even had surgery. I was worried because the sideburn incisions are visible areas after all, but the scars healed well, and when covered by baby hairs they’re almost invisible (see photo). There’s nothing uncomfortable, and I’m exercising too! There is still residual swelling, but sensation has all returned, my mouth opens wide very well, and I even regret not doing it sooner lol *What I felt after surgery What I felt after surgery is, first of all, choosing the hospital is really important! I think the director’s experience, style, and communication are really important, and I also think the consultant’s postoperative care is important. If it were hard to reach them, I think I would have felt anxious, but even after surgery I could communicate well with the director and consultant on KakaoTalk, so I had no worries. Even when the swelling was severe, I think I was able to trust them and wait. (Around day 5? The swelling was seriously incredible... my face looked like a monsterㅠㅠ) I also felt the hospital’s aftercare played a role in reducing swelling, so I thought that was important too. Anyway, I really feel that doing it sooner was the right choice! They say residual swelling can last up to a year, so I’m looking forward to how my face may change again. Once more swelling goes down, I’ll bring another review.
