It has been a long time since I had it done... and I didn’t look into it much. I went because I was told the surgeon was a close friend of a relative, so I don’t remember the specific details. Anyway, that hospital has closed down, and I heard the doctor who did my surgery moved somewhere else.
My nose was low, slightly upturned, and short. At first, they recommended inserting an L-shaped silicone implant, but there were so many bad things said about it that I did cartilage + silicone instead. In the middle, they replaced the silicone with one lower than the first one, so it took a lot of time. Maybe because of that, wound healing was slow too, so I went to the hospital every day. I think I also took medication related to contracture as a preventive measure.
Fortunately, I’ve been doing well until now without any major side effects. It’s slightly asymmetrical, and I think there’s some scar tissue inside my nose, so I’m not completely satisfied, but I did it when I was brave because I didn’t know much, and overall I think it turned out okay.
