I went around to 5 places for consultations for my first hooked-nose surgery! I had the consultations in July, and I’m scheduled for nose surgery next week. I also looked into full-face fat grafting and under-eye fat repositioning together with the nose surgery.
1) ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ
A clinic with one director, famous for nose surgery
The director explained only the facts realistically (clearly said what couldn’t be done)
They explained in an easy-to-understand way while drawing pictures, and the consultation with the director was on the longer side
An atmosphere where I could ask everything I was curious about
They explained while showing before-and-after photos, and they seemed to pursue a natural look
I said my forehead was also somewhat sunken so I wanted to do fat grafting together, but they said my forehead is wide, so they didn’t recommend fat grafting
Implant-free hooked-nose hump reduction + osteotomy + septal cartilage + ear cartilage
It was my first consultation, and I liked the director, but the reasons I ultimately didn’t choose them were
fear of local anesthesia and a higher-than-expected estimate

A place I went to on the recommendation of a friend who had breast and nose surgery there; one director
They seem to do almost no app ads or events, and it was hard to find reviews
It felt like a clinic only people in the know know about..?
Maybe the director dislikes facial contouring; when I said I had previously had facial contouring surgery,
they talked about only that for a long time... Why did you do facial contouring, the skin will sag, I don’t like bone-shaving surgery, etc.
The director didn’t really seem eager to take me on at all, and it didn’t feel like a good fit for me, so I didn’t bother
The estimate was decent

A clinic that used to be the place where I had facial contouring, now under a changed name; one director
I went for a nose consultation since I could also check the progress of my facial contouring, and it was a familiar clinic
Every other place recommended no implant, but this was the only place that recommended silicone
Instead, because it’s a hooked nose and my nasal bridge is on the high side, they said they would only place the thinnest silicone as a thin overlay (to prevent unevenness)
The director was very calm and kind,
but the wait was long, and I had to go straight to the next clinic, and I didn’t choose it because I felt resistant to silicone
4) ㅇㄱㅈㅅㅇ
A large hospital, but there is only one director specializing in noses, Director Choi
The reviews were good and they seemed to pursue a natural look, so I went for a consultation
The director was busy, so the wait was a bit long,
but the consultant was kind and treated me well, like a comfortable older sister
The director asked why I wanted nose surgery, and said they were really confident about doing hooked noses well,
showing lots of confidence
Maybe because the director was busy, the consultation was short

They said if the septal cartilage is insufficient, they would use ear cartilage as well
Looking at reviews, many people say it’s a downside that the results are too natural

A large hospital, but there is only one nose-specialist director, Director Kang
The directors are divided into nose 담당 and eye 담당
They said a guardian can watch the CCTV in real time
You have to visit before surgery for a blood test
The director is on the blunt side but extremely meticulous; the consultation was detailed
Their style is to explain everything from A to Z, giving off expert vibes

The consultant was so focused only on mechanically explaining the prices that I didn’t like the consultant
If it weren’t for the director, I might have felt the consultation fee was a waste....
When I said I also wanted under-eye fat repositioning, the eye director was someone else, so I couldn’t even have an under-eye fat repositioning consultation that day
They said if the surgery dates are coordinated well, I can have the procedures together
Going around to 5 places was seriously exhaustingㅠㅠㅠㅠ I split it over 3 days! I’ll have surgery next week and come back with a surgery review,,, I hope the surgery goes well ㅠㅠㅠ I hope my first nose surgery succeeds ㅠㅠㅠ
