This was my 3rd nose surgery, and I had revision surgery because the previous and the one before that had issues like silicone shifting, deviation, and the nasal bridge being too high.
Consultation The consultant has changed now, but the 2 consultants who were there when I first went were kind + sharp. I liked them. I had 2 consultations with the director. One of the things that is better than a large hospital is exactly this part. Even if the schedule changes, it is not burdensome, and they really consult with each patient for a long time.
Surgery - anesthesia The first and second times, I suffered so much because of the anesthesia. I am sure I had general anesthesia. Anyway, it was so hard, but for this surgery, I do not think I suffered because of the anesthesia.
Surgery - result They used crushed autologous costal cartilage as the nasal bridge implant, and the biggest advantage is that it “does not make me anxious.” When I had silicone inside my nose, I was always worried about side effects that could happen at any time, but now it is all mine, so I do not really have to worry. And it definitely looks natural. It really feels like bone. No, it is bone, actually. Even if I shine a flashlight on my nose, the light does not pass through. There is a downside in that I feel like it would be hard to remove. But I did this thinking it would be my last surgery, so I did not even want to think that there might be another revision surgery.
CCTV They showed me everything.
Progress They are good about postoperative care. They do swelling laser + hyperbaric oxygen every time I go, but at week 2 I could not do it because I did not have time. It is really nice that there is absolutely no waiting. I think it is because the director only schedules exactly 1 surgery a day.
Cost For me, it was revision surgery, but I think it was reasonable. I did not hear the cost for a first surgery, but compared with other hospitals, it is conscientious.
