I wanted to only have surgery on the nasal tip without an implant, so I went to three places! For reference, my nose is small and low
1. ㅊㄷㅊ - My friend had it done here and it turned out well, so I went - The facilities were nice, and the doctor, nurses, and everyone were kind - If I wanted no implant, they could do it, but since my nasal bridge is low, it wouldn’t be noticeable. They recommended putting in even a little silicone - I tend to have slight rhinitis symptoms, so after taking a nasal CT, they said inferior turbinate surgery was possible, and that part would be covered by indemnity insurance - They planned to use septal cartilage as the material for septal extension, and since my septal cartilage is a bit small, they might use ear cartilage together
=> I didn’t want to use septal cartilage as the material, and I wanted a columellar strut method rather than septal extension, so I excluded them! (personal preference)
2. ㄴㅌ - I went because I had researched that they could do the columellar strut method! - The facilities were seriously top-tier and everyone was kind, but it had the distinctive feel of a large hospital (and there were so many foreigners in the waiting room that I got a bit intimidated) - Even though I had made an appointment, I waited 30 minutes before meeting the director - The director was nice, and rather than being firm about his own opinions, he seemed like the type to accept most of what the patient says - He did say I could do it without an implant using a columellar strut, but maybe he thought there would be no surgical effect, because his reaction wasn’t positive
==> I’m a bit indecisive, so I prefer a director who has firm opinions, so I gave up!
3. ㄱㅇㅈ - I saw good reviews in a community, and when I researched it (blog), most surgeries seemed to be done with a columellar strut + ear cartilage, so I went right away - I was genuinely flustered because there was no website, so instead I read the blog thoroughly twice before going - The interior was really old-fashioned... But the doctor and nurses were all very kind (though I did think the director might be polarizing) - I liked that the director pointed out the exact same points I had been thinking of (if silicone is inserted, it may actually hurt the youthful-face points, so if that’s the direction I want, it’s better not to insert it; he absolutely won’t use septal cartilage, etc.) - The surgical method also matched what I wanted
So after thinking it over, I chose ㄱㅇㅈ and had surgery yesterday! I’ll try to post a surgery review later too
But right after surgery, in the recovery room, with the splint + nasal packing in, is that my final nose? ㅠㅠㅠ
