Before-before-before Mentor 5-10 week review
[Size] Before surgery: a small chest with even an A cup left loose After surgery: 75B-70C / 295cc, 350cc
[Incision] Armpit incision. Until about a month ago, I slightly regretted it, thinking I should have done an inframammary fold incision because revision surgery would have to be done through the fold and I wear sleeveless tops a lot. But if I had done the inframammary fold incision, I think I would have been semi-forced to tell too many people unnecessarily that I had surgery, so now I think I did well choosing the armpit incision.
[Scar] The redness has faded a lot, but the scar itself has not improved greatly. I got scar injections at the clinic, and they also gave me scar ointment, so I am applying it consistently. They said scars get better after 3 months, so I am not too worried about it. I got some pigmentation along the armpit line from rubbing against the upper band, and they said that should also improve with time.
[Texture] I have not been touching my breasts often to check the texture, but when I go about life without noticing it, at some point they feel quite soft.
[Swelling] Around weeks 4-5, the swelling suddenly went down a lot, and currently I am not completely sure, but from how I feel, I think there is not much swelling from the surgery anymore.
[Daily life] Because of my personal schedule, I went for the checkup that is usually done at week 4 during week 5 instead, and at that time the doctor told me it was okay to sleep on my side, so I am sleeping more comfortably than before. I also lie face down briefly sometimes, and it does not seem to be a big problem. When I put my arms on the desk to write or type, I end up supporting my body with my arms without realizing it, and then I sometimes feel a stiff, strained sensation in my chest, maybe because it puts a little strain on my breasts. This time, because of an office relocation, I moved a lot of things for a week, but other than the stiff feeling mentioned above, there was nothing uncomfortable. Very occasionally, I feel a tingling pain in my breasts. The arm below the incision area sometimes hurts in a strange way, but it is not enough to bother me greatly, so I plan to ask about it when I visit the clinic in 2 weeks.
[Kindness] They sew the inside of the incision area with dissolvable sutures, and around week 3 after surgery, a dissolvable suture was sticking out. I am the type who is not very sensitive about things like this, so I did not contact the clinic separately and just left it alone. At my week 5 checkup, they asked if there had been anything uncomfortable, so I told them, and the nurse and doctor checked again three times and reassured me. Right before the checkup, the protruding thread had disappeared, so I was not paying much attention to it, but it was nice that they cared about it more than I did. All the staff at the clinic, including the doctor, nurses, coordinators, skin care specialists, and front desk staff, are kind.
