<Same day / the right eye is the operated eye><+2><+7><+14><+21><+28>I got a lot of different information from this community before surgery, but I don’t think I saw many posts about getting double eyelid surgery on only one eye as a first surgery, so I’m leaving this post hoping it will help people who have the same concerns as I did. While preparing for double eyelid surgery, I hope my concerns and review can be helpful to someone!
[Reason I only had surgery on one eye] I only had a double eyelid on one side, so for a long time I used double eyelid tape on the other side. Then I felt that my eyelid had stretched too much, so I got double eyelid surgery! Most clinics recommend doing both eyes, but the reason I only had one eye done was because I wasn’t changing the double eyelid line; I was matching it to my left eye, where the double eyelid was already settled. So I didn’t really want to touch the side that already had a double eyelid. Many people said that doing only one eye would make them uneven, but my eyes were already very asymmetrical because one had a double eyelid and the other didn’t, so I wanted to fix that. And even if I did both eyes, there are many cases where the eyes still end up uneven or side effects occur, so I wanted to do the minimum.
[Recovery period] Because I work, it was important that I recover within my vacation period. I rested for about 10 days and then went back to work. In the morning there was still slight swelling, and I think it looked a little like I had gotten double eyelid surgery. After 14 days, it definitely became natural. But the problem was the bruising... Even 3 days before going back to work, the bruising was still severe, so I struggled a bit to get rid of it. I hurriedly bought a well-known bruise cream (ㅂㅂㅇㄷ) and applied it, and it seemed to be quite effective.
I thought about it for a long time before doing it, but now I’m so satisfied that I wonder why I didn’t do it sooner. I hope everyone’s surgeries turn out beautifully!!
