It’s been a little over a week since surgery.
Reason for revision surgery
- The nasal tip actually drooped compared with before surgery
- Nostril asymmetry
- Crooked columella
The hospital where I had my first nose surgery was also pretty well known for noses, but the result was disastrous..
I was under a lot of stress.
The alar base/nostril wings were too thick, and it looked much worse than before surgery.
What I gained was ugly nostrils...ㅠㅠ The side profile was the same... It actually looked worse than before surgery;;;
I was so stressed that I looked into revision surgery.
For revision surgery, I focused on finding a specialist director who had done many revision surgeries. Because it was a difficult revision rhinoplasty, I visited several places in person to find a skilled director ㅠㅠ
At the hospital where I had surgery, the director’s consultation was really professional, and they identified the problems with my nose well, so as soon as I heard the explanation, I thought, “This is the place,” and I was able to trust them and have surgery.
They said my columella was very severely crookedㅠㅠ Unlike my first surgery, they carefully designed everything while considering the columella, nasolabial angle, and so on. Even on the day of surgery, they were so meticulous that the design took a very long timeㅠㅠ They also operated on the hump that had not been improved at all during my first surgery, and maybe because the hospital specializes in revision surgery, they also had an inflammation spray and anti-adhesion agent prepared.
For this revision surgery,
I had silicone 3 mm + autologous costal cartilage + bulbous nose correction done together, and since I was at it, I also had forehead fat grafting done.
I had a little resistance to using autologous costal cartilage, but after actually having surgery and seeing the result, I feel like I made the right choice.
They say autologous costal cartilage is the least likely to let the nasal tip droop, and the scar I was worried about is less noticeable than I expected.
After surgery, I was able to receive photos right away, and when I saw them, I was surprised because it turned out so well. The crooked nose was fully corrected, and the side-profile line came out exactly as I wanted ㅠㅠ
During all the time I spent looking into revision rhinoplasty, I suffered emotionally so much and had such a hard time, but this time I really feel compensated.... Even in the operating room, when I was trembling so much, the nurses all held my hand... Every time I go for treatment, the director and consultant all take such good care of me.
All the photos are unedited, and I still have some swelling, so please keep that in mind when looking.
All the parts that stressed me out were corrected.
I think the director is really skilled because even though it hasn’t been long since surgery, I had no bruising at all and not much swelling either.
